Moraelin
Well, so I'm porting one of my mods to Oblivion, as requested by someone. And I just spent some hours making nicely fitting scabbards, since Oblivion swords have scabbards. So I'm thinking... I have the meshes, I have the textures... is there some easy way to use them for the Fallout 3 / NV swords too? I mean, in Oblivion, one just needs a NiTriShape node with a set name. Is there anything like that for Fallout?
Draco856
There should be because unless I'm horribly mistaken for not having played the game in such a long time the swords go onto the hip when holstered, so all you'd have to do then is match the scabbard up with the holstered mesh. Quetzlsacatanango
Maybe 2 items-One is the scabbard, an armor item that takes one of the add-on slots. The 2nd is the sword, which is a weapon obviously. Then you just need to line up the scabbard with the sword's position when not drawn. You could even script the weapon to equip/unequip the scabbard when it is equipped. Is there anything like that for Fallout? There's a million ways to do this but it's late so i'm just going to tell you the easiest 1 to say. Just install it like you would a 'big gun weapon' but use a scabbard instead of a backpack. Else: AFAIK Try adding the scabbard to an armor list then adding the armor to the weapon in the settings box that might work but i've never tested it. I'll come back t check tomorrow. If none of that works or you're confused by nifskope I have some pretty solid scripts that do similar things which I know work. Edit: Study the gatling laser or the minigun to learn how to include a backpack. Edited August 5, 2011 by arcane20
Quetzlsacatanango
That is a great idea, in lieu of scripting it.
