Stand Alone Mod

Hello everyone i have been making a stand alone mod for several weeks (i have done item names, quests, monsters, etc. i have had a design drawn out for the town and 30 dungeon levels done on paper. I now am starting the work on the editor. So far i have the town exterior pretty much done, but i have come across to problems.

1) This is kinda a stupid one i can't get water to appear, i enabled it on the cell and set water height at 0, 1, then -1 and adjusted land height but it just makes a gaping hole.

2) I can't figure out how to have the player start in a diffrent location and have character creation right there and then. I would appreciate any help on this. The plan is to have character creation kinda like morrowind, except character creation done first and game starts by you just stepping off the ship.

I would appreciate any help, suggestions, or questions you would like to see in the mod.

Part of what makes a TC hard to do at the beginning is having to define everything, and link it to the various .nifs and .dds files. There is a file around somewhere that does this, not sure how much is defined. The question of invisible water is probably because you havn't defined any water types, and havn't linked a .dds file for the surface properties.

As for starting a chargen, you are best off using a quest and quest script to both move the player to the correct cell, and to trigger race/class/birthsign selection at specific points. You should probably avoid moving/removing the player that is placed in the world, as well as placing another player since this will likely break your mod. The player is a very specific and unique NPC and making adjustments to it can break your mod.
