Patta80
I decided to dust off my retexturing-Skills today and tried to create a helmet based on the DC Guard Helmet. First, I unpacked the textures, materials and the .nif files for the original DC Guard Helmet using http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/78/?Then, I copied the Helmets .nif File, the material and the texture (I decided to use the normal map and Specular Map from the original helmet for the moment), edited all of them using Nifscope, Gimp and the Creation Kit, and finally wanted to add them into the game. Here is what the helmet looks like in nifscope: And here is what it looks like in the creation kit: I added them to a container and have no problems obtaining them from that container, but when I equip them, the mesh is not shown and my character is simply bald. What could be causing this problem?
Patta80
Small Update: I found a video saying that the problem might be Bounding Sphere having a radius of 0, but that was not the problem (and other research told me that armor does not seem to use the Bounding Sphere anyway)
Patta80
So, no one has any idea? I did a bit of research and tried some things, but I am at a total loss here...
KataPUMB
Unselect the 46 slot in the armor addon and select the 30, 31, 47, 48 and 49.Now add in your Armor models the "AAHelmetFlightCap" and try again (I'm telling you how the DCguard helmet is configurated)
Patta80
Well, that adds the flight cap under there (which I did not actually want, but that should not be a problem) and still leaves my helmet invisible. Thank you anyway, I would have missed that the slots where set wrong... Edited May 24, 2016 by Patta80
KataPUMB
Well if you're seeing the helmet in nifskope and all seems to be right, materials, textures in the right folders and all the stuff it needs, then it must be something in the configuration. Try luck with the slots and remove extra races, and things like that. I mean i've added meshes to the game and retextures too and i had no problem with them ingame. Well i can't contribute more than that, the only i can do is trying to gess what could be gone worng. Sorry
Patta80
No problem, I will keep trying. Maybe you gave me a hint there, at least. Thank you.
MadRabbitX
What i can recommend you to try, is to simply duplicate a DCGourd helmet in CK, and then just change helmet model on your own. This will help you to understand, is problem in your ESP, or in your model. If this will not work, replace your model files with DCGourd files. If this will work, then it means that problem in your model.
Patta80
I originally did just that, I duplicated the DCGuardHelmet and changed just the model (and Name), I just messed up the slots on the model :D I will give it another look later.
