DevourTheFeeble
Heya everyone-First off, I'm sure this question has been asked before, so I apologize if it's redundant. Out of curiosity, why are the reload animations for mods a little wonky? I'm not familiar with the technicality of mod development, but I assume it's because they're using the existing reload animations for the default weapons. I also assumed the advent of the Creation Kit would allow modders to create their own animations, therefore adjusting them per weapon mod. The most noticeable is when reinserting a magazine into a receiver, it's usually a couple inches off and will kind of "clip" it's way through the receiver. If my description is poor, I can try and find a way to provide either a .gif or a movie of what I'm talking about. Thanks again!Dev
Testudini
The animations in Bethesda's games are handled through Havok, a third-party software. As such, creating or modifying animations in a Bethesda game requires a Havok license, which is typically very expensive. I believe there are ways around this (as people created new animations for Fallout: New Vegas and Skyrim), but I'm not sure if there's any feasible way to do it for Fallout 4 yet. As for why the animations already present in the game are so wonky, it's because the guns are so wonky. As such, modders are stuck with wonky animations meant for wonky guns, not realistic weapons such as an M16 or Nerf Dart Blaster.
