WastedNomad
Ok, so Ive had New Vegas for awhile now, actually I got it as soon as it came out. I bought it over Steam so when I try to play the game now after being away for a bit (about a month or two) it tells me: Error Fallout: New Vegas does not appear to be installed and the installer could not be found. Try exploring to your DVD-ROM drive and selecting setup.exe to install the game. I have played it while online on Steam so Im pretty sure it registered to me right. Problem is, I dont have a disk :S Anyone else whos had/heard of this problem that can help me out a bit?Grrr. Whats worse is that I was in the GECK modding before trying to play the game and now after this I apparently dont have the master file for the GECK. :( Edited August 2, 2011 by WastedNomad
IndorilTheGreat
This happened to me right after the game came out... I just restarted my computer and it worked out fine. It also happened after long periods of activity (or inactivity). For example: I play the game for several days, and it has trouble starting up every so often. On the opposite end of the spectrum, I didn't play NV for a few months, and I got the same issue. It just kind of "went away" for me. Maybe it'll do the same for you.
WastedNomad
Hmm, glad to see that Im not the only one had this problem and thats its been fixed. But alas restarting did not help either, going to try a backup I had on its files and see if that fixes it. *crosses fingers*
WastedNomad
Alright, backup worked after a bit of tinkering with some extra files etc. MODS- Lock, hide, archive, delete whatever it is you do, to this as you please now :)
