what does luck do ?

Yes, luck affects almost everything. The most important things affected by luck are:

- Chance to hit or evade being hit

- Chance to successfully cast a spell

- Chance to successfully enchant an item

- The quality of the loot you find.

I believe that almost every skill test has luck factored in, but the above are the most important examples.

People say that luck has a minor effect, but really it makes quite a big difference if you compare having 100 luck to having 50 luck.

Interesting question about blocking arrows. I have one character who is an archer and it does seem as though some NPCs with shields block arrows because they raise their shield and there is a "clang" sound, although I am not 100% certain of this. I know that you cannot block unless you are in combat mode, and given that most missile attacks are "sniper" attacks, i.e. you are hitting someone before they are aware of your presence, blocking of missiles would not be seen too often.

I'll pay more attention next time I have my bow out.

I never knew that luck had such an effect on blocking. I know that 100% block gives you about a 60% chance to block, so the other 40% must be a combination of agility and luck. Wow! I really need to start raising my luck when I level up.

I believe I asked something about Luck before... And the responce that I got was exactly what it says when you put your cursor over it "Helps everything you do in a small way"

With my first Character i put nothing into luck... but with my newer character...i make sure every level i put 1 into it... Its best to start maxing it first since it only goes up by one...

I noticed my character had alot better chance of opening high level locks when I had a fortify luck item and Vivics Blessing. (I had +30 Luck) Now I am going to start increasing it when I level up. It does effect everything you do in a not so little way.
