gtg797h
Put bluntly I have an idea for a mod that I don't want to discuss right now other than a few important technical details that could make or break it. I am seeking advice from modders about the following: Imagine an underwater environment where the player is in a heavy dive suit that does not allow the player to swim but instead walk on the sea floor at an encumbered rate. Approach 1: Simulate an underwater environment- Is it possible to apply a slowfall effect to the player/actor? (to simulate sinking)- Is it possible create a custom skybox to simulate being deep under an ocean? (think fish/shark/whale shadows instead of clouds, my guess is possible) Approach 2: Alter the existing underwater environment- Is it possible to disable water for the PC/NPC and let the player/actor just fall to the ground? (picture some things walking/falling, and some things swimming in the same space)- Can the above be done dynamically based on having a specific item quipped to the player?- Is it possible to force the game to allow the use of all weapons or a select list of weapons underwater? Known (I'll populate this as I get responses):- the buoyancy of different item materials can be edited so that they sink or float faster/slower (runaway corpses could be a problem) Any constructive feedback on these technical details would be appreciated. Please to not post responses that speculate the theme of the mod I may make (obviously there will be similarities with Bioshock).
