ThomasCovenant
Is this possible? If it is can someone instruct me on how to accomplish it?Here's the gist: I would like to have my lizards run around not wearing anything, including that stupid, IMO, loincloth. Is there a way to tell real male/female lizards from each other?1. coloration; males could be any color and females would have permanent chameleon.2. when choosing H2H, both Khajit and Argonian should extend their claws.3. Argonians could use a spitting-poison attack(gas cloud?), that would rise in potency as the H2H level rises.or even venomous claws. 4. In reference to another part of this forum.. why speech at all?Argonian speech that you hear should be a series of hisses, while still maintaining the "translation" of the screen text.Khajit speech should be a series of huffs, growls, and roars.Orc speech should be a series of oinks, squeals, and grunts. Ref: a book in Oblivion called the pig children or something like that. The following are just ideas and according to another part of this forum not possible.(huh...unless something has changed.) In the following statements I DO NOT MEAN TO CAUSE OFFENSE!!!I'm on a roll...IMHO all of the elves should have an Asian or India(n) accent.Nords should have a strong Russian accent; not Boris Badinuf.Bretons should have a strong cockney accent.Red Guards should have a strong New York, Harlem, Queens, or Detroit accent.Imperials should talk and act as though they work in DC. I just think that those accents would match what the chars are supposed to be.
Vagrant0
Is this possible? No. Not from a modding standpoint. Not even close. Seriously, it can't be done in any remotly practical or meaningful way. If you wanted to throw out any and all application to NPCs, didn't care if it actually did anything nor how much of the game you wanted to screw up, it still wouldn't work. Body types can't effectivly be made for only one race. Even using equipment force-equipped to create an illusion for a specific group of actors would still get broken the moment they wore something else. Even if you went through the trouble creating new meshes for every piece of equipment to fit that body type, and used scripting to swap out items, any items which were added by mods (not even those with new meshes (read ooo, frans, warcry) wouldn't work with said script. Any OBSE function which would affect what model was linked would affect ALL versions of that item. H2h stuff just doesn't work due to how weapons are setup. The moment any weapon is equipped it is no longer hand to hand. Using gauntlets to create the appearance would only end up doing that, creating the appearance (while also removing anything you had equipped to your hands (and anything which is a full body set (arena armor, DB armor, ect)). There are no spell effects which use the gas effect. In order to have anything to look like it's gas instead of ball, you would need to change one of the existing effects. As there is no "poison" spell type, you would have to screw things up even further to make it so. Additionally, the gas effect moves very slowly, which in this case probably wouldn't eb to your benefit. There is also the issue of making it based on a non-magical skill, even though you could probably come close by using a scripted effect and linking the visuals to the effect you changed, applying any sort of direct damage through that effect doesn't work very well. Complain to Bethsoft about the voices. Clearly they had to cut down on the variation in order to fit everything on a single dvd. Short of some people getting together with those vocal abilities, re-recording every single line in the game, and then having someone who feels like linking it all, it isn't going to be done. More to the point, this sort of thing just simply isn't something modders should feel responsible for doing. It's Bethsoft's responsibility to deliver what they promised. Having beggers that change voices, having too many races sount the same, is just plain sloppy production, and they should be ashamed for what they have allowed to be released. Sypron
By the way: Voices can't be modded. They are sound files and to change them would be manually changing all of them with a microphone and a couple of cups of coffee. Plus, the output file would be about 1.5 gb, no one would download it. So long as you aren't on dialup, and there are enough sharing seeders, you could download something like that while you're sleeping/at school. Anyway, it wouldn't be larger than some of the texture packs floating around (most the data on the DVD is textures), and there are plenty who use those. Sypron
I guess you could make one of the noises (series of clicks and hisses) in several different ways, then use those 7-10 files for ALL of the game dialouge. That would cut down on time and file size.
