Shidentora
I like using scoped weapons very much, including SMGs and pistols (yes, pistols). Why?PROS:Zooming in with such a weapon works for static enemies at some 20 - 30 meters distance (at least for me) and, as for those distances, in the case of a running target only V.A.T.S. or bullet time helps.Scope or any short - medium distance optical sight is of great help and provides for a good shot. Besides, a scope makes a weapon look cool, right? And, IMO, at least for me, a badass looking berret, a cigarette, a Dragonskin outfit and a scoped SMG or any other scoped automatic gun or pistol makes for a FO3 SWAT/commando image. But hey, everyone's got their style of playing. At least here in FO3/FONV it IS possible (WAHOOOOOOOO!!!) and I guess that, besides our unlimited gameworld, this be-what-you-wanna-be style of playing is the main reason we love the games so much. CONS:While using a scope, you DO NOT SEE anything around, and so scoping, firing and returning to normal field of view is necessary. Of course, if you have a follower - and in this kind of game it is really good to have someone watching your back - than you can scopeshoot until you run out of ammo:) SO, what's your take on this? Moraelin
Depends on the gun. I've sniped supermuties guarding the Jefferson memorial in FO3 from across the river before, which is a fair bit more than 20-30m. In fact, I still like it with the Vladimir and increased spawns. It's like a shooting gallery :P Or with HE ammo, and aiming at their feet or a wall behind them, well, it doesn't matter if you had inch accuracy. It'll hurt all right. But, generally, as you've seen yourself, there is no such thing as a one-tactic-fits-all. Sometimes you have the space and time to snipe, sometimes it's time to use more explosives than Michael Bay, sometimes you have to just pump them full of lead on full auto, and sometimes it's time to pull out the ol' greatsword and party like it's 1399 ;)
