wPatriot
Hello, I am trying to extract a weapon from a certain mod, to use it in my personal mod. In order to be clear about this: I am not trying to rip anyone off. I am doing this purely for myself. The mod that I am making is only a collection of weapons and armor from different other mods, of which I only want that particular weapon and/or armor. The mod in question is Weapon Mods Expanded: Modern Weapons. The weapon that I want to extract is the WA2000 Bullpup Sniper Rifle. So far, I have succeeded in a large part of the extraction. I used GECK to create an empty esp-file and used FOMM/TESnip to copy the WA2000-object, as well as one weapon mod that the weapon uses (WMXModSniperRifleExtMags). I pasted them into my personal mod file and opened the mod in GECK. I tweaked some of the stats and changed some of the locations for the meshes. However, after changing some things and going back to the Art and Sound tab, I noticed that the 1st Person Model Object was set to NONE. I remembered it being something different in the original, so I checked it. Turns out it was indeed something else (I can't remember right now, something along the lines of WMX1stPersonBullpupSniperRifle). I checked the GECK wiki and found out that this field is supposed to be set with a Static Object. Checking the wiki for information on static objects didn't really help, because I was unable to find how to add a new static object. What should I do in this situation? Is there a way to add a static object and should I then just use the default .NIF for that object? Or do I have to do something different entirely? EDIT:I just found out that it's also possible to copy static objects, so now I also got the static objects to fill in the 1st Person Model Object. However, I would still like to know how to add static objects to a mod. I thought I knew how to make weapons from scratch, but it seems I don't..
