Body Mod madness

With Morrowind it's easy, Better Bodies and Heads. For Oblivion, I've been searching for a body mod, and a head mod for NPC's and my head is swimming. Exnem's? Growlf's? Beatuiful People? Tamriel NPCs Revamped? throttlekitty's Hot Heads?

Is there a preferred, or most commonly used mod for NPC bodies, and NPC faces? how DO I get results like this:

Sorry, I can well imagine these types of questions get tedious for the regulars here. Just know that I have done a search using only "body" to get the highest number of results, and all I got here was a thread on the creation of body mods. Searching over at Planet Elder Scrolls yielded results that merely mentioned certain mods, but gave no link, or even the full name of the mod.

Most results were patches and add-ons to mods that I could not find, and even when I did, I'm unclear as to WHAT is compatible between body, face, and clothing, and what would be overlap and cause conflict.

Any insight from experience would be greatly appreciated.

All the best.

Easiest solution would be to search for the actual mods and read the descriptions. Most capable authors explain what exactly their mod does.

As for conflicts, you can only have one male and one female body mod active at a time (normally) since other mods would overwrite those same files. Mods which replace meshes or textures directly conflict with eachother, so you should only install one. Mods that change races, eyes, hair, all conflict with eachother and break the content, so you should avoid using more than 1. Mods which change NPCs (although rare) only conflict with other mods that change that specific NPC, and this is usually a minor conflict which can be solved by adjusting load order).

Really though, you need to take the time and think about these things for yourself. There is no one body mod because people have different tastes. Exnems is the more recent and popular for eye candy, Bab has more plausible proportions. Both come with their own sets of stuff, and change most of the standard armors to fit the body. Older mods like esheme, growlfs, ff, should probably be avoided since they aren't complete (replacements for armors and clothing) and don't seem to be getting much attention.

Vagrant0, thanks. I'm more then willing to check these out for myself, but I was feeling a little overwhelmed with the choices and requirements. I just needed a little focus which this gives me. Anyway thanks again, I'm off to experiment.

I'd say I would use Exnem's Body mods, and the related files. If you want a comprehensive list of links to exnemized mods, try this:

While I really like Growlfs' hot cloths/piercings/tatoos and whatnots, it seems Exnem's Body mod has much wider support in the modder community, even some Growlfs cloths were exnemized.

in order to get that result you need combined mods from different modders: for the ladies : exnem eyecandy, rens beauty pack, soya hair pack, cosmetic compiliation

for the lads: roberts male body replacer, rens beauty pack , cosmetic compiliation

ladies+ lads any armor which you desire

ladies + lads work on their faces to make them how you like
