candedspam
Like many other newbies around the world, I've been fumbling around with what mods to use while pretending to know what they do and what they are compatible with--spending long hours adding, rearranging, and removing various mods instead of playing the game.. xD I could probably make a pretty decent mod setup if I continued to derp around with it long enough--if the tediously repetitive guess-and-check tweaking and mind-numbing technical research doesn't defeat the will of my hearts desire to mod New Vegas into a more beautiful and immersive experience I can really lose myself in (with minimal frustration on the way.) think we can make the modding process easier and more successful for newbs and veterans alike by working together! New Vegas may be a solitary offline game (for now--hehe,) but that doesn't mean we can't come together to share the fruits of our labor and stories of our experiences and lessons learned along the way! Let's empower ourselves with the power of the internet!!! I invite you to share your load orders here! This forum is intended for players and modders of New Vegas alike to reveal their modded masterpieces. Feel free to show off, screenshots and comments to support your load order is very welcome! If nothing else, please at least let us know if your load order is at least (mostly) working. I personally would love to learn about any underrated (or overrated) mods you might have experience with, and maybe pick up on some time saving tricks you might have found. This isn't the place to post bad load orders that don't work--but even so, hopefully this thread can provide you with something that works. so please... SHOW US THE GOODS! candedspam
Some tips I've learned are: Uncheck and recheck Archive Invalidation after making changes.Make regular backups of your game, especially before big changes (it might seem like its to time consuming, but its a time saver in the long run.)Read all descriptions and readmes for information on installation, and do research on compatibility with mods you already have that might conflict. Some changes require you to change cells (rooms) in game before changes take place. I made a save of a character from the vanilla game standing by the door exiting Doc Mitchel's house, its a great save to test new mods on without my modded save affecting things.Plan to have problems and for your game to break when trying new things. Always have a backup plan and don't panic. Edited June 1, 2016 by candedspam

candedspam
Thanks for sharing maddad! Hoping to get some good working load orders here for people to use as reference, but lets make yours good since nobody else has posted :3 The obvious thing I can see wrong with your load order is FalloutNV.esm always needs to be first. Besides that, I think EVE and Project Nevada need compatibility patches to work together, and WME probably does too. Its also a best practice to have EVE lower, and Mod Configuration Menu higher. I don't know much about YUP, but if its a big overhaul type thing you might want to put it towards the top so your specific mods aren't overwritten by it. Hope this helps!
