Scars
Will the upcoming DLC/Addon break a mooded game? I know there will be patches and stuff and I want to know if the new patches and the addon will corrupt saves and break the game or if the mods previously installed simply stop functioning. would be cool if someone could clear this up. heavylikestone
No idea... i installed my first mod 3 days ago... so i hope it don't break. Think it will just not work in that case not sabotage anything
hedop
Why would they corrupt saves? They never did that. The game simply bugged out usually which is easily solved, simply uninstall the mods and repair the files via gog or steam. But yes, usually a new patch tends to break mods. That is my experience at least. I haven't had any saves corrupted, but just in case I always have two or three of the important ones. You would probably be better of asking in the mod/technical forum for the witcher games: http://forums.cdprojektred.com/forums/174-Tech-Support http://forums.cdprojektred.com/forums/187-Mod-Discussions
Gamertech100
Yes, the game no longer boots with any of the mods installed,do we just wait now for the modders to update their files? Edited May 31, 2016 by Gamertech100
WarninShotZ1328
Yes, we should wait until the modders update their mods. Dunno is it a problem or not. I didnt use mods but its personal i guess. I just used the debug console, but after the 1.21 patch it doesnt work. :D
ddavies10693
Start by uninstalling any mod that has scripts. They changed the way the game handles scripts, and as a result, most mods no longer work (if they use scripts). In this game, pretty much any mod that isn't just a texture replacer or mesh edit will have scripts. Your first step in this case is to check for updates of any mods you don't wanna lose. Once you uninstall all of the scripted mods that weren't updated, you can try enabling them, one by one, and try launching the game again after each one until you narrow down which is the one causing issues. Luckily, probably 95% of all mods on this site can be installed or uninstalled mid game without it corrupting your save file, if you also do everything else properly. azizkhabbaz1990
the graphics mods are fine , but debug console / companion mod / camera mod are broken , which pissed me off ..
TheRedWood
It's the 1.21 update that breaks the mods, not the expansion... I think.
ddavies10693
The update was created for the expansion, and you need the update to get the expansion installed, so they're essentially the same thing. But yes technically the update contained the script changes, not the expansion
