nemean357
First of all, I'd like to thank all the great modders in this community who have taken a great game and made it superb. I've been following the mods for Bethesda's games since the early mods for Daggerfall. While not a modder myself (attempted dungeons having plenty of openings to the void with Morrowind), I greatly respect the dedication and efforts put forth by everyone here. So now comes the request...In an effort to clean up my directory, I'm attempting to compile all related mods into groups. I've downloaded OBMM and TES4Gecko, but after a few moments realized i have no idea what i'm doing. Have I downloaded the appropriate utilities and just lack the skills to utilize them? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
tsolless
I don't use TESGecko so I'll explain OBMM quick. OBMM. There are two windows. On the left is the one that shows all the activated .esps and .esms. You can change around the load order there. On the right is the list of all the OMODS. This makes it easier to activate and deactivate mods as you just make it into an OMOD and when it's activated it's ready to roll and when it's not the files aren't in the Data files making it easier to uninstall. Now... To make an OMOD... Click create , the button nestled in with the others at the bottom. Select name and the other stuff if you want to but it's not essential. -Add File- You can choose to select single files into the OMOD. Remember that everything is sent to the Oblivion\Data folder. So if you want to add meshes and you just choose it one by one it will just go into the Data folder and not into the meshes. -Add Folder- This adds whole folders into and OMOD. When downloading others mods they are arranged often like... Mod Name (1st folder) Data Meshes Textures Sounds (etc.) Select it so that everything goes where it should. You want meshes to go to meshes in the Oblivion files so choose Data so that meshes and textures are the ones that are added. This will add folders meshes and textures into the Data folder. Anyway with all the files added to the OMOD you can "Create OMOD" It will make it and you can activate it.
nemean357
So to start by extracting the mods into there own folders, then adding them into OBMM, in order to deal with redundant meshes and textures?
Povuholo
I can't really help you with this but I just want to remind you that if you decide to release this compilation you should ask the modders who created the mods for permission. Would be nice :)
