Need help urgent please

Hello, my oblivion goty edition disk is cracking and I can´t find the game on stores anymore so Im going t order oblivion 5th anniversary edition from america (I live in europe) my question is will it work here?Will it require steam to install or is it like the previews games?

Is the game a box/disc edition? If so, Steam will not be required. I've never heard of a disc game requiring Steam.

I will get the disk version.I asked cause I heard about oblivion on steam and since new vegas disk version requires steam I was wonder if the recent copies of oblivion would be like it.Also will the pc vesion of the game from america work with in europe?

Oh wow, how sad New Vegas needs Steam -.- Seems a complete inconvenience.

 

PC games from America should work in Europe, i'm running the American copy of Portal and it's fine.

 

I don't think it needs steam from googling it, although you should wait until someone with the game replies. Besides, should it need steam someone would've released a patch for it.

American stuff works in Europe, but oddly, European stuff doesn't work in America.

What you mean a patch?If it requires steam I wont buy it :( though I´m still looking for the goty edition where I live but I see prices of out of stock sales with 50 euros for a 5 year old game :dry: I bought my goty edition some years ago for 20 euros and that´s the max I give for it.

A patch is usually an update. I doubt that there is one that removes steam activation for any game though, since that would be considered illegal.

 

I wouldn't worry about oblivion though. As far as I know only New Vegas require steam, and that game was made by obsedian, not bethesda who made oblivion and the "original" fallout 3. I'm sure we would all have heard if they suddenly made so that all new copys of oblivion require steam.

I should add, it is unknown at this time whether skyrim will require steam activation.
