Broken airlock cycler

Whenever I try to cycle the airlock for Fawkes to activate the Purifier, I hit E, and then nothing happens. It makes the little noise you get whenever you press it on something that can't be activated for some reason, and then Li screams at me over the intercom, and Fawkes still follows me around. What do I do? I've got the latest patch, the unofficial patch, and Game of the year edition.

I'm actually having the exact same problem, and this is the only post anywhere on the net I can find about it, does anyone know a fix to it?
