My first playthrough

Introduction: Before you go on crucifying me in your comments please note that I first played the game on Xbox with Broken Steel expansion only, by the time I bought the GOTY edition for PC and started using mods I already had 150 hours gameplay.

Back in the days when I wanted to find something to play I was deciding wheather to buy FO3 or Fable 2 my brother recommended me FO3 and I am gratefull that he did. And here is why:

My first playthrough: A tale of a Lone Wanderer, stumbling through the wasteland!

I was amazed by the early costumization options during your birth and etc, amazing as it was I got completely confused by the special system "agility affects your small guns skill": what guns are small? How does agility help my FPS skills?

It didn't get any easier when I got to choose my tag skills, thou I don't remember what tag skills I had, what I do remember is that I chose a good karma path through the goat questions and I didn't know how to alter the goat results. In fact I spent several minutes trying to figure out how to start the next action sequence as in I just walked around the goat test room and talked with everybody.

Since I was in the need of supplies I visited the doctor and took some meds from his house, he didn't like that. After I killed him I exited and found an angry mob of people firing at me, I tried to fight back and died and when I reloaded my last save it turned out that I was in front of the same mob again. When checking through my saves it turned out that the game was autosaving every time I entered an area, in this case I was just respawning in front of an angry mob over and over.

This taught me 3 things: that people will notice if you wrong them, that autosave sucks and that you hard save a LOT!

When Amata gives you a pistol back in the vault you can say no and so I did thinking that this would affect her fate with a weapon to protect herself. I didn't even take my BB gun when I left so all I had was some 10mm pistols, police batons and some armor. I ran out of ammo on my way out of the vault so I had to look for supplies back at megaton

If My story Ends in à strange fashion then it means My cell is running out of battery and I am posting quickly to save the pain of retyping, the spelling issues are mostly T9's fault. I will edit this later.

If you don't like your GOAT results, you can always ask the teacher to change them. As for the Tag skills, you can change them when you leave Vault 101. My usual (and recommended) selection is Repair, Small Guns (which cover all pistols, assault and hunting rifles, shotguns and SMGs) and one other (usually not Medical, since you get a boost to that anyhow with the Bobblehead in Dad's office).

Now, sorry if I am stating the overwhelmingly obvious here...

Very strongly recommend that you totally kill the Autosave. Completely. My own experience (and this may vary) is that doing so reduces the crash rate considerably. Instead, just save manually, and do so often. Yeah, it isn't as immersive, but I guarantee it is safer.

Oh, and if your version uses Games For Windows Live, definitely install and use the Disabler for that - which will improve performance and reduce the crash rate even more.

Thx dude but chill out, like I said this is for lulz shits and giggles. As for crashes the GOTY edition is highly improved, short loading time, little to no crashes and few glitches left unpatched. As for general performance it's better than NV in many aspects. BTW I haven't even gotten to how I started looking for ma dad yet :D
