Jynxi
Summer's almost over, but it seems like the last few months of summer are hotter then the rest. Here in San Diego, things have gotten to the 90's to the triple digits this summer, and anyone who knows anything about tropical heat would know it's very humid and muggy. So anyways, on this thread, you can tell stories about your summer, past or present, and also talk about how you cool off.

I went with my girlfriend and her friends from Orange County to the Wild Animal Park on Saturday. Worst. Heat. Ever. 100 degrees Fahrenheit and approx. 80% humidity - the Safari tour guide said they have to artificially cool the environment for the animals since it's been hotter here than in their native African habitats! Anyways... I've got the fan blowing 24/7 since my apartment has no AC - only temporary relief I'm afraid...
Marcus Wolfe
There is a sport known as tubing. Usually performed in cottage country on a lake, it involves the athlete holding on for dear life to an inflated tube whilst the tube is dragged by a motor boat at high speeds. Ooohhh yeah, I did that a lot. And when my dead gets me off the tube, I don't just did the water......I skip like a skipping stone!

I just wish I had friends with a motor boat. x)
Marcus Wolfe
It's actually quite painful, but definitely worth the thrill, or I wouldn't keep doing it.
Darkh Templar
Well, over here the weather is also freaky, but in a more freakish way. It was around 38°C for a week and then, on Sunday, rain and cold wind. From 38 to 15°C! In less than eight hours! Talk about thermal shock... Marcus Wolfe
Well.......that's not too bad.......it's like that sometimes in Canada, but never during summer.
