NocturneNight
Hey everyone, I've been using this mod now for awhile and have run into some wierd stuff. Having never played OOO before, I am almost bursting with questions, but haven't really found any good place to ask them. I have searched on the forums here and I can't find any similar threads, so I was kind of hoping this could become a thread for general discussion in regards to OOO. So if you have any questions of your own, please ask them! Anyways, firstly, it says that OOO aims to make the Oblivion world much more static, but I seem to keep running into levelled content. The Mauraders in Fort Strand seemed even tougher when I tried to take them on at level 7 compared to level 4, and the Warlord was a complete nightmare that I only managed to beat through sheer luck and use of my greater powers. They also seemed to have gained new, shiny dwemer equipment (although not much, a sword here and there mostly). I also keep running into bandits/mauraders on roads; and although the bandits seem fairly week, the mauraders almost always seem stronger than me. I'm wondering if this is intended or if I have some rogue mod or something that messes with the levelled lists; naturally I'm worried that they'll all be sporting full Ebony armor at level 20. :P Also, related to my first question, how does OOO handle Oblivion Gates? I just finished the Battle for Kvatch-questline and the monsters I encountered seemed to be levelled; I am now level 10 and ran into Seducers, Dremora Kynvals, and some Scamps and Hungers whereas at level 2 (just wanted to see how tough it was) I only ran into Hellhounds, Stunted Scamps and Clannfear Runts. Does that mean that all the daedric enemies in the game will also be levelled? Otherwise, there is no way to tell the strength of the enemies within Oblivion Gates, is there? It pretty much means you have to jump in and scout out the residents before making an attempt at closing a Gate? So mainly, the feeling I get is that the world isn't as static as was advertised. Maybe it's just me, or maybe I have some mod conflict - I don't know. I have more questions, but honestly I have forgotten what they were right now as those two were the most burning ones. :P Well, hopefully someone can answer this for me, and if you have any other questions, please post them. Thank you for reading. :)
NocturneNight
Noone has a clue what I'm talking about here? Are you perhaps running FCOM instead? I'd really appreciate some answers from OOO users, current and old, as I have no idea where else to ask this.
danbadone
OOO uses a combination of static and adapting levels. It does not completely remove the old system, but it modifies the offsets (how many levels above or below the player an NPC is) and the maximum and minimum levels of NPCs. I believe this is what you encountered. For instance, try to walk to Leyawiin through the forest (not on the roads), or attempt one of the new quests (or even the main quest any further than the first few steps after 'joining' the mystic dawn) with a low level character, and you will experience some static levelling in action ;) Unfortunately, I don't know how the Oblivion gates are managed. alerossi82
Hello, I recently tried to use this mod, it's great but I don't like the skill progression system, far too slow compared with the original (about 3x slower); in the readme, it is reported it is possible to adjust the progression rate to various levels, from the original vanilla system until 6x slower, but the files refers to the installation process only and I don't want to start a new game! DO you know if there is any possibility to update the OOO skill progression level after starting a new game?
Nephenee13
DO you know if there is any possibility to update the OOO skill progression level after starting a new game? I would assume its in the INI file, but I don't use OOO so I can't say for sure. I would suggest asking here.
skeleton
I have a question I'm use the full version of OOO, And the harvest containers aren't working they do not show any signs of being looted after you loot them. I tried to put the mod in and all i get is a big yellow block where the container is so i disabled it. My question is how do i get the harvest containers to work inside of the full version of OOO? :wallbash:
