Mik0112
Hey guys, I've struggled with it for a while now, trying to ensure all my mods are patched for my newly installed DLCs but I just can't get it working without constantly CTD'ing. Here's my mods and their load order: [X] FalloutNV.esm[X] DeadMoney.esm[X] HonestHearts.esm[X] OldWorldBlues.esm[X] AWorldOfPain(Preview).esm[X] FOOK - New Vegas.esm[X] FOOK - New Vegas DLCs.esm[X] More Perks.esm[X] More Perks for Companions.esm[X] More Perks for Dead Money.esm[X] More Perks for Honest Hearts.esm[X] More Perks for Old World Blues.esm[X] More Traits.esm[X] Project Nevada - Core.esm[X] Project Nevada - Equipment.esm[X] ELECTRO-CITY - CompletedWorkorders.esm[X] ELECTRO-CITY - Highways and Byways.esm[X] Centered 3rd Person Camera.esp[ ] Centered 3rd Person Camera - Unraised.esp[X] Mr Moneybags.esp[X] FOOK - New Vegas.esp[X] FOOK - New Vegas DLCs.esp[X] Project Nevada - Cyberware.esp[X] FreeplayafterMQNVv1_6.esp[X] NewVegasBounties.esp[X] More Perks Update.esp[X] More Perks for Companions Update.esp[X] More Perks for Dead Money Update.esp[X] More Perks for Honest Hearts Update.esp[X] More Perks for Old World Blues Update.esp[X] More Traits Update.esp[X] FalloutNVCheatTerminal.esp[X] FlashlightNVSE.esp[X] NVWillow.esp[X] Sorter - Combined.esp[X] dD - Enhanced Blood Main NV.esp[X] LFox Bottle That Water.esp[X] Project Nevada - Rebalance.esp[ ] realistic headshots.esp[X] WeaponModsExpanded.esp[X] WMX-AWOP Patch.esp[X] WMX-FOOKNV CP.esp[ ] WMX-ShotgunCommando.esp[ ] WMX-Arwen_NV_Realism.esp[X] Project Nevada - WMX.esp[X] WMX-DeadMoney.esp[X] WMX-HonestHearts.esp[X] WMX-OldWorldBlues.esp[X] WMX-FOOKNV-DLCs CP.esp[X] FNVEnhancedShaders - AA-DOF Enable.esp[X] ELECTRO-CITY - Inventory Sorters Compatibility Patch - RegularCATEYEvalue.esp[X] Fellout.esp[ ] Merged Patch.esp The merged patch is currently not activated, since having it activated would mean instant CTD upon launching the game. I'm sure there's some compability patch or the like I've missed, but I just can't figure out which. I've tried systematically disabling the mods, but I can't seem to find a pattern, so I figured I must be missing some compability patch or something like that. Game worked fine until I installed DLCs and began installing compability patches. Help would be greatly appreciated, as I'm at the end of my line now. PowderdToastMan
howdy, have you tried unchecking all the mods to see if it doesnt ctd on vanilla? with a new game and a current save? what is it doing when it ctd's? are you walking around? are you going through a load door? are you shooting a gun? does it do it after only playing for a few minutes or after 30 or 40? do you have any ini editors installed, such as nvse - fnv4gb - configator - etc? I have tried unchecking all the mods, and loading an earlier save, which eliminated the problem. While fidgeting with the mods checked did lower the amount of CTDs when going through - pretty much any - load door it's still a regular problem, and I've been somewhat unable to pinpoint the mods conflicting. The bug would come a few minutes into playing-session, usually shortly after first load-door.
PowderdToastMan
ok, how much available ram do you have. default fallout new vegas will only allow up to two gigs of ram to be used for playing the game regardless of how much you actuallly have. but at first glance, it doesnt seem like you are running enough mods to max out the limit. start the game up and play, then wait until you think its about to crash and hit Alt-Tab to to the desktop. Then open your task manager and click on processes to see how much of your available ram you have used, and if your about to hit your limit. In average it seems to be using right about 660.000 - 670.000k That's taken somewhat shortly before a couple of CTDs Oh, and I have 8 GB worth of RAM. PowderdToastMan
well then its definitley not your ram unless you actually dont have that much. I havent got the dlc's because of potential problems like this. i wonder if it is a result of the dlc. Have you tried playing new game without dlc to see if it is doing it? short of technical aspects like possibly bad hardware, im at my wits end here. also, have you re-installed the game at some point? did this possibly start after a re-install? Did uninstall the game, removing all previous files associated with it, before reinstalling it. Generally I think the CTDs are a direct result of some missing compability patches, for the DLC, since removing the dlc and the compability patches will remove all problems. PowderdToastMan
when you uninstalled, did you clear out your save folder under documents/mygames/falloutNV? this is easily overlooked. that folder contains two ini files that, if they dont match the ini in your new vegas folder after the re-install, can cause ctd's.the re-install does not replace those ini files. if this is the case, take the saves you want to keep and place them in a temporary folder on your desktop. then clear out the falloutNV folder of everything. then start up a game and create a new save. this will place a new saves folder in your inventory, as well as two ini files that are identical to the one in your new vegas folder. then place your save games back in your new "saves" folder and run your game. you will need to re-install the geck and the configator if you are using it. I did indeed clear out that folder. I'm going to attempt removing and re-installing every mod I have, from the bottom up, and then I'll see what happens. Thanks for the help, though.
