Fuzion64 Posted August 7, 2011 Share Posted August 7, 2011 I would like to know if there is a way to assign a companion a 9mm w/ an equpped silencer from the WXE weapons mod. So far I have just been able to modify their inventory with all of the basic guns, so I usually assign a ratslayer and a silenced 22. I have no idea how to make them use a weapon with a mod kit attachment on it right fom the start so that it is already in there inventory. Can you give a companion a 9mm with silencer and tell them to only use that weapon or will they always pickup items as you travel. I have noticed that if I give a companion a 9mm with a silencer, the 3d model on them is unsilenced and it gives away my position when fired. Same happens when I given them a silenced rifle. However if I open there inventory in geck and assign a basic silenced weapon right there. They spawn the weapon on their backs properly. I just don't know how to make them use a 9mm w/ silencer in geck vs a base 9mm. Apparently you cannot create a modded weapon and assign it to people right off the bat in GECK. What I would do is to open both the WXE mod and falloutNV in GECK (we need the gun from WXE) and copy off the 9mm pistol object. Strip off the possible mods for that weapon (in the Mods tab) and assign the stock model to be that of the silenced 9mm. Also make sure the sound is set to silent (either in the first panel or "Art & Sound", I forgot). Then assign this to your companion and make sure the ammo is set to the robot ammo so the companion will have infinite ammo. Oh also set the new weapon as not playable (for the sake of completeness).
