Purple Screen Flash

Soo ocassionally (often) I get purple flash on my screen, it flashes in sequence and it will quit if I enter a new area.. but it may restart again. Just the whole screen flashes purple tint, not a solid purple. Also get occassional CTDs and crashing on fast travel/entering a new area. Here is my load order below. I felt I was pretty metticulous about it and I spent a lot of time on it. This is (to me) the perfect version of New vegas for me. Any ideas or suggestions that may help me out? Help me remedy some of these issues. I have literally spent days installing and reinstalling trying to get a more stable game while utilizing the mods I really want. It would be so great if someones who knew more then me had some input. Thank you very much

Best thing to try in situations where you have graphics problems is to update your graphics drivers, then ask us.

If you already have or just did and it had no effect then I have no idea.

 

There is a common graphics glitch like this one where the screen goes black in the same manner but I have never experienced this problem before.

All my drivers are up to date. I have a SLI 470 system with 4 gigs ram. there shouldnt be a major graphics issue, I wouldnt think

Other than that suggestion, I can't help you. You may want to check the Nvidia forums about this as well if you haven't and maybe try a beta driver if it is a common problem.

Problems like this (screen color goes awry, artifacts, and graphical bugs) can be caused by an overheating video card. Check the temps then post back here.

I've only ever had crashes from an overheating GPU, a driver update screwed up the fan and it didn't spin so all of a sudden. POOF! gone, reboot.

If its only one one game either that game is the only one which heats it enough or its not the heat.

As for the heat, was that 60 degrees Celsius?

Two things:

1. You're loading more than 139 plugins, which I can say with 99% certainty is causing your issues. Get rid of some of them. This leads to the other thing.

2. nVamp is not compatible with New Vegas since patch 1.3, much less the current versions of the mods it alters the records of.

 

Now that that's out of the way, I'll respond to the necro:

See if either of the above two points apply in your case and correct them if they do.
