misterwizzard
I would imagine this has been answered or addressed before, but I would like to know how to make new buildings, rooms and structures. I have looked around on google and searched the nexus but have not found anything. A link to a tutorial or source of info would be awesome. I have just started to mess around with modding and would like to make my own structures. I know, I know, Skyrim comes out in like 3 months. I have extremely limited experience in 3d modeling or texturing, I was mainly wanting to cut some of the stock structures apart and kind of use them as building blocks. I suppose that is a different question, is that possible? I imagine it is if I can get the files into an editor. TL;DR Cant find anything that tells me I can or cannot make/edit stock buildings and rooms.
bencebence
Firstly if you want to edit a vanilla building, you should unpack the vanilla textures and meshes .bsa. Then you have to edit them via a 3d modelling program (or if you're only retexturing, then use Photoshop or GIMP) If you want a completly new one, then start on learning Blender :P
misterwizzard
I did see references to blender when looking earlier. Thanks a lot for the answer! I was hoping it was that easy, but could not find anything specifically about buildings, just items and such.
bencebence
Yeah, they are way harder to make (maybe that's why there aren't any tutorials for them :P)
misterwizzard
Do you (or anyone) know if the models can be made in sketchup or something more structured? I think for making things like buildings being able to measure and snap to points/measurements would be quite helpful in making normal objects such as houses/walls/decorations. And being able to measure things will make joining models (interior pieces) easier. I have began going through tutorials for Blender, but do not think it will be as easy to make symmetrical or structured looking objects. Advice? bencebence
Ask the author of this: http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=39901 mod. He is the only one who could achieve this (if I'm right)
