lemonfan1 Posted August 10, 2011 Share Posted August 10, 2011 I've been using Feng Shui a lot lately to modify my player home in Novac. I could always move a table through the wall with Feng Shui if I didn't want it, or even just shrink it down and hide it somewhere. It looks pretty cool at this point, but now I've learned something that I think a lot of people out there could use. See, I've been wanting to get items like a new trash can, a milk crate, a shelf, etc more or less for looks and to have places to put things. I've even made a request for a mod to make these items available to spawn, but I found out my request was actually quite needless. Real Time Settler. Yup, Real Time Settler had a function that I had completely forgotten about! Blueprinting! I can walk up to any shelf, any crate, any ITEM in the game. Use the Bess bell in my inventory and start blueprinting that item. Then, I can head back home and produce that blueprinted item in my house and BLAM! There it was! Ready to be placed wherever I want and used however I want. Now, I tested this in my game. I successfully blueprinted an item in the Goodsprings Gas Station and reproduced it inside the player home in Novac. After leaving the player home and returning, the item remained exactly where I had put it. You should note, however, that even if you disable RTS in your mod manager, the item WILL still appear if you've produced it. I think there's an option to get rid of an object in RTS through the scavenging mode, but I'm not absolutely sure. So if you're gonna make something, make sure you WANT it. Your only other option will be to use Feng Shui to move it through a wall and out of your way. So, this is what I've discovered and felt like it'd be nice to share with you all. I don't know how to mod. I'm slowly leaning how to make a player home. For those of you who want an easy way to renovate your homes, there you go. :) Anyone else have any little tips, secrets or links to mods that would be fun to mess around your house with?
