duff0712
Ok so I am still very new to modding Fallout New Vegas and if I leave any info out or need more just let me know. I would really love to play the game but it always crashes or freezes (causing me to cntrl+alt+del) at most around 30min into the game, usually less. These are the mods I'm running as of the moment. (Through FoMM fallout mod manager or whatever) [x] FalloutNV.esm[x] MoMod.esm[x] Project Nevada - Core.esm[x] Project Nevada - Equipment.esm[x] AWorldOfPain(Preview).esm[x] CaravanPack.esm[x] FOOK - New Vegas.esm[x] Weapon Mod Expansion.esm[x] NVR-Strip.esm[x] MoMod.esm (MoMod.esm is now here. had to reinstall etc cuz i effed it up. crashing prob isnt fixed tho)[x] The Mod Configuration Menu.esp[x] NVR-NPCs.esp[x] NVR-Version_10.esp[x] FOOK - New Vegas.esp[x] Project Nevada - Cyberware.esp[x] Project Nevada - Rebalance.esp[x] WeaponModsExpanded.esp[x] Project Nevada - WMX.esp[x] Weapon Mod Expansion.esp[x] Project Nevada - WME.esp[x] EVE FNV.esp[x] Fellout.esp[x] friendofnightforfellout.esp[x] mergedpatch.esp I also have the modsGreenerGrass for FelloutMTUINMC's Texture Pack (not a big issue of this moment but I also got attacked by like 5 invisible "mosquitoes" when i fast traveled to the GoodSprings Cemetery if anyone knows wtf is up with that.) Not sure if the freezing/crashing has something to do with the mods or settings but if anyone has any ideas I'd love to hear/try them thanks! edit: I also just downloaded these yesterday so everything should be the latest versions. edit: I've also noticed a lot of the crashes are during when I am sprinting. Not every time I sprint my game will crash, but I'm not sure of coincidences. Edited August 12, 2011 by duff0712
likeitsillegal
The attacks at Goodsprings Cemetary are probably Bloatflies... they can hit you from pretty far. Anyways, I'd be a little careful about using Fellout. It actually tends to conflict with a lot of other "atmospheric" mods, I'd guess you'd say. Hah, you went a little crazy with the mods on your first day?

Hah, you went a little crazy with the mods on your first day? Haha yeah there are so many interesting mods. I will try unactivating Fellout and see if that stops it from crashing. I thought they would be Bloatflies too. When i went into VATS it said mosquito and it didnt show any creature there and everything was a 0% chance hit lol. I was so baffled I just ran like a mofo. Update: I deactivated Fellout and it ran for longer than usual. It still crashed and when i cntrl+alt+deleted I noticed New Vegas was using 1.4gb of ram. Is taht why it is crashing so much? how can i fix it? Edited August 12, 2011 by duff0712
likeitsillegal
I think MoMod adds more creatures, right? I don't use it, so I don't know for certain, but it may be the cause of these "phantom mosquitoes". AWOP also adds new enemies, and a lot of difficulty, so if it's your first time with the game, I'd recommend turning that off until you're a little leveled. I doubt that's the reason for it crashing, the RAM, that is. Have you tried turning off all your mods and seeing how long, if at all, it takes the game to crash? If you find the vanilla game works well, try turning your mods back on one at a time. My guess is something is conflicting. I don't think WME and FOOK typically work together - but there's a compatibility patch. If you don't have the compatibility patch, try downloading it here. http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=37576 Edited August 12, 2011 by likeitsillegal

FoMM was trying to just install the patch as a stand alone, but i fixed that. I will try dling the patch and see how it goes
quicksilverva
i dont see the compatability patch for MoMod and AWOP. http://newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=41361 also, best practice to place dlcs/preorder packs BEFORE mods while you can run both WME and WMX, use one or the other to save room and headaches (unless you make a compatability patch for the two)

Thank you for the tip :) and i will look at WME and WMX closely and decide which one I want to keep.
