And scripting is what it would take if I wanted the detection to be dynamic. Pretty much, I want a mod that makes it so NPCs detect you based highly on perception and intelligence. And by what type of weapon they use. For instance a sniper would detect you at a farther range because he's a sniper. And an NCR MP would detect you easier because they are constantly on watch for illegal activites. While a person using a shotgun might not really be looking for you at such a far range. And then the factor of perception comes in. A high perception makes them detect you at greater ranges. Sort of how it works for the little red tick marks on your compass, except it's for NPCs. -Just a side request, but I think it would add to this quite a bit. Make it so that enemies that spot you alert any nearby friends and they begin to stage an ambush for you (hiding behind buildings, etc.). And also making it so that enemies don't just rush you (making this based on their weapon also of course) so that they have a more tactical decision when it comes to attacking a spotted enemy.
