RevApoc
As the title says, I am in need of some modding help, and as you can tell by my join date, I am quite new to modding. (though I did tryout GECK when it first released for FO3, but what I wanted to do with it was way too "ambitious", I'll say). I understand that most people won't be willing to help someone that won't help themselves, and for that reason I have not given up trying to figure this out on my own. I'm posting the question on here just in case it is some simple thing that a newbie just doesn't know how to look for it in the GECK. I fuddled around with GECK for a few hours last night but could not figure it out. Anyways... onto my issues... What I am trying to do is have the player skip the birth, party, and GOAT, and just start in Vault 101, grown up, just as when they do in Vanilla with Amata waking the player up. However, my 101 will be completely empty instead... so no Amata. It's easy enough to delete/edit/replace objects in cells, but I can't figure out how to get the player to start in a specific spot when starting the game. On the interiors list I found 101d, and saw the different player start markers that coincide with the intro of the game (bday party , goat test area, etc...) but I couldn't find the same markers in the list on the left to be able to place them in a different interior cell (the list that has Actors, Triggers, etc... the "add" items list, I guess). I also noticed that these playerstartmarkers were in sequential order, coinciding with the different age sequences of the game. I wish there were a way to see an activity log or something as to what the game loads up. (for instance, if I somehow made my own initial playerstartmarker with the same ID, and just deleted the others, would that work?). I downloaded the "Alternate Start" mod before going to bed last night, so I will be checking the edits in that mod tonight. Hopefully I'll be able to figure out from that how to setup your own pc start point, and also see how they tie in the sex/race/name sequences (activites? I think they are called?). Not only will the alternate starting spot bypass the intro portion of the game, it also plays into the "Walking Dead" mod that I am trying to make. I have more questions, but I feel my post is overloaded enough as it is. Thank you for any help or light you can shine my way. I'm all for trial and error to figure things out, but I couldn't even find anything to try last night, to get the error.
RevApoc
Well alrighty, I think I have found my solution. What better time to crawl the Nexus files and forums than while at work, huh? Anyways, I found a mod called "Custom Start" by TheMagician, which seems to be exactly what I am looking for. I'll work on organizing my other questions and presenting them in a new thread.
