anthropg
So, I made a mod called Less Annoying Vampirism. Anyway, I broke some guy's save game, and I'm totally stumped as to how to fix it, or how it could happen. http://www.tesdb.com/files/file.php?id=12995#comments The mod gives a debuff that makes your character silenced among other things during the day while outside. I can't imagine why uninstalling the mod would not get rid of the debuff, as it's an ability that I defined in my mod.
Vagrant0
So, I made a mod called Less Annoying Vampirism. Anyway, I broke some guy's save game, and I'm totally stumped as to how to fix it, or how it could happen. http://www.tesdb.com/files/file.php?id=12995#comments The mod gives a debuff that makes your character silenced among other things during the day while outside. I can't imagine why uninstalling the mod would not get rid of the debuff, as it's an ability that I defined in my mod.Because you shouldn't be disabling mods which were active when a game is saved. If the person who used the mod didn't make backups of their saved game before adding the mod, or didn't wait to see if they like the mod before playing further, that is really their mistake, and nothing you are responsible for. Just as a modder who makes a player house isn't responsible for the items placed in that house vanishing if that house mod was disabled. As for fixing it, making some way to remove the effects within the mod (as part of a quest or something triggerable through console) might solve the issue if he still has a saved game with the mod active and has something to preserve the loading order. Otherwise wyrebash might solve the problem. However, depending on what actions this person has taken (disabling, re-enabling, disabling, saving over games each time) he may just have to start from scratch and use this as a learning experience. You should always have a few good saves to fall back on before installing any mods you aren't sure of, and should always find out as much as you can about what that mod does, and decide it you like it before making additional saves, or continuing any of the quests.
