ModelV
I cant figure this out. Sierra Madre chips arent in any of the item categories for the ingredients(they arent even an item actually they go under Misc.). This is usually where i look at Obsidian's work and see if i can tell how they implemented it. Category NONE: Component NVDLC01SierraMadreChip But it wont let me select an item without category. Secondly when attempting to make an item in GECK i cannot give it a vanilla image as going through the shown file path for other items leads me to a nearly empty file with only 1 icon from the Oasis quest from Fallout 3. Does anyone know of a work around for these 2 issues?
Gribbleshnibit8
For the icon issue, just find an item that has the icon you want, and change the EditorID of the file. Change the other properties as you will, and when you click OK it'll ask if you want to save as a new file. Just click yes and it'll make a new form for that item. As for the first issue, what you can do is the same as above. Just open a recipe, change the ID field to a new one, then edit the rest of it the way you like. When you click OK, it'll ask to save as new, just click yes, and you get a new record. An alternative would be to open the mod up in FNVEdit and copy the chip record data into a new recipe and then use GECK to set the rest (or just use FNVEdit, it's about as fast and allows for edits like that). EDIT: And the reason you can't find it is because it's under Casino Chips.
viennacalling
If you still want to do it completely from scratch, first add a new ingredient with any category any entry (e.g. Alchemy -> Absinthe). Save it. Then edit it and change the category to None. Now you can select the NVDLC01SierraMadreChip. No, I don't know why the Geck acts this way. Also, for the icon issue the other alternative is to use a program like FOMM to extract the images and their directory structures from the BSA file. Put all that in your data folder and then you can access them. Edited August 16, 2011 by viennacalling
