flubby32
I don't see anything with that load order that could be causing a problem.. Anyways I use about double the amount of mods you are using, and I get a crash every now and then too, so with fallout new vegas and mods its really just part of the game.. Hell it even crashes often in a vanilla game.. I am not saying there is no solution, just I don't know, and sometimes you have to live with a few minor problems.. Honestly if you aren't crashing every other time you fast travel I wouldn't worry about it too much. But with that said you may want to start a new game and see if that fixes it, as sometimes saves get a bit corrupted and you cannot fix them. I suppose you're right. Thanks a ton for all of the help, because you did make my game more stable. Hopefully the frequency of crashes will be low enough to allow the game to be playable, haha. sirspiderlord
I have what I think is the same problem. I'm running vanilla nVamp, and I have noticed that the game crashes if you try and fast travel after you have left by foot the area/cell you were in when you loaded the game. This means that you can wander around for a while in good springs, but as long as you don't leave Good Springs or go inside, you can still fast travel. Likewise, you can fast travel after fast traveling, so long as you never leave the location you fast traveled to by foot. I've tested this extensively, managing 15 fast travels w/o crash when just fast traveling, and a 20/20 crash replication rate by walking into another area then fast traveling. I don't know what causes it, but if you learn anything, please let me know. The game is pretty unplayable for me without fast travel!
mooncarver
I've had the same issue. random crashes no matter where I go. then I deactivated NSkies and this problem seems to have disappeared. It makes kinda sense, I think. crashes often occurred on unmodified terrain, so the only mod that affects almost every place in the mojave is a weather mod. I suggest disabling NSkies and get the Project Reality mod when its up again. Edited September 30, 2011 by mooncarver
n0t0ryczny
Get New Vegas Configator (yes, Configator) and set your preload size to max. Or edit fallout_default.ini and set iPreloadSizeLimit=157286400 instead of any other value.
Ryuukage0101
Have you tryed to " right klick > properties > Compability > Run this program in compabiltiy mode for : Windows XP (service pack 3) > apply > ok > done". It did solve all my "crashes". Maybe it works for you too.

dubiousintent
Please note the date of the previous post, and see the Nexus "Terms of Service" about not resurrecting old threads. There are unlikely to be any of the original contributors to a 4 year old thread still around. But to answer your question: NVAC works just fine and is regarded as an "essential" mod. Others are listed in the 'Essentials for Getting Started' section, but you should also read 'Vanilla "Load Order"', 'Towards Game Stability', 'Third Rule: The Rule of One', 'Smaller Plugin Cap', and 'Merge Patch file' sections of the wiki "FNV General Mod Use Advice" article.-Dubious-
