iconx
Hello, I've installed the Oblivion GOTY and then over 20GB worth of mods in the correct order and it works great on the laptop I built it on, but now how can I copy/backup my modded Oblivion and restore it to another machine? On the target system I installed oblivion and the utilities I used for putting the mods together like BOSS and Wrye Bash and then I copied by Oblivion folder from one system to the other. I also copied the oblivion data from c:\users\gamer\appdata\oblivion and c:\users\gamer\Documents\Saved Games\oblivion and pulled up wrye bash on the new system, but my mods are all messed up and it doesnt work correctly on the new system. How can I backup my modded oblivion properly and restore it to another system or what did I miss? Iconx
bben46
When it is installed, Oblivion makes several changes to the Windows Registry - these CANNOT be copied from one computer to another. You must Install Oblivion using the disk on the second computer, Then start the game and make a save, then you can copy over the data folder from the other one. Do not try to copy over the Oblivion.ini file as that is hardware dependent - it will not work on another computer unless the hardware is exactly the same. So after installing from disk, ONLY copy the data folder and game saves - nothing else.Utility programs like OBSE, OBMM and Wrye Bash must also be installed and not copied
