Wraithofdoom
oblivion is a 2006 game, it uses no more than 1 gb of ram at max i would guess, and you can make it work with even 512 Mb.
Balakirev
Oblivion can use up to 2.5 GB RAM. It requires at least 512 MB RAM, but can keep very little in memory, if that's all you have--movement will be extremely slow between loading zones. There are players who believe it benefits from more RAM on a 64-bit system, but many remain skeptical. If you run mods, you will want to have 2 GB RAM. SineWaveDrox
There are a few utilities that I have seen that can make Oblivion (and other programs as well) able to address more than 2GB of RAM. The one that I use is available here.
