And are there any important bug fixing mods that I should get? Or have all the important bugs been patched? poco bueno is the top one i think. cyberweasel's list that i linked to has a list of bug fix patches, but you can use the console commands to fix just any bug you come across so they're not really necessary. Dalendry
Would you guys recommend Poco Bueno's texture pack or NMC's? Or does it really come down to personal preference? I have a solid rig so I'm not too worried about the strain on my PC, I just want what improves the appearance the most.

Satorinu
I know everyone's mentioned a few of these, but thought I'd copy & post my 'mod record' file I use to keep track and updated. Currently working 100% for me w/o crashes, can post the load order if interested :) I only just started playing NV again about two weeks ago so I'm still building and building on the list, but the difference these mods make is astounding. Specially Project Navada & Willow Companion, utter 'must haves' in my opinion. Though the one mod I'm keeping a heavy eye on is "Requiem for a Capital Wasteland" Don't know if anyone else mentioned it yet, but it's bringing all of Fallout 3 into New Vegas :D still in alpha, so I haven't tried it.. but def one to watch as the bugs are worked out!! ** MUST HAVE MODS (Organized) ** 8/20/2011 ** < #1 -- MODDING TOOLS (Required) >http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=36901 -- FONV : Mod Managerhttp://nvse.silverlock.org/ -- FONV : Script Extender < #2 -- Overhauls >http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=40040 -- Project Navadahttp://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=38285 -- Weapon Retexture Projecthttp://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=34868 -- FNV : Enhanced Shadershttp://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=35998 -- Navada Skies < #3 -- Body Alterations >http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=35451 -- Breeze's Male Body : Type 3http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=34702 -- BEWARE OF GIRL(BOG) : Type 3 HiRez HiDetailed Replacerhttp://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=35352 -- Anthony Lings Coiffure - Hair + Eyes + Lashes Bundle (Male/Female)http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=38093 -- Shilo DS : Desert Succubus Custom Race (If Playing Female) < #4 -- Equipment >[search] -- Pipboy Readius < #5 -- Companions >http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=41779 -- Willow Companion < #6 -- Personal Home > < #7 -- Questshttp://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=36659 -- FNV Sexual Innuendo < #8 -- Radio[search] -- Conelrad Radio[search] -- E20 Radio[search] -- Enclave Radio Edited August 22, 2011 by Satorinu

Satorinu
Honestly I *phear* quest mods from past experience - That one was a semi exception as I tried to get several other similar mods to work together and ended in miserable crash after crash. Bringing me down to a somewhat depressing 0 Equipment Mods 0 Quest mods.. unless you include Willow's quest line and Nevada's Equipment, which I suppose I should. Just seems like I end up 'testing' the quest mods, rather than enjoying it because I tend to end up avoiding the 'roleplay' aspect of making my character do anything logical.. instead I end up running right toward said quest, and seeing if I can manage to get through it without bugging out or crashing and before I know it, the quest tends to either be over - or - be incompatible with something, thus losing my save and having to start fresh just to be sure it's not a problem that persists forever. Guess I'm just jaded in regards to Quest mods :D but understand that my first mods were back in Morrowind, and some of those quest mods were just.. insanely annoying.. such as the endless dialog glitches that ment you had to ctrl alt delete if I remember right, because you couldn't even get to the menu, just because someone forgot to add a close or continue button >:| and then potentially lost hour(s) of playtime because you forgot to save and never crossed auto-save regions or doors. Just finished Willow's quest as an example, and had the Underwater Bunker home -- was getting constant crashes every 5-10 minutes (after about 8 hours total of gameplay over a couple days) and none of my companions could seem to figure out how to properly move about (Which I think the creator warns the bunker may not be custom companion friendly), and sooo had to drop it -- bare in mind for me I create somewhat of a background for the character I play, and try to be logical about how things should play out -- he didn't run straight for Willow at the start, instead focused on saving goodsprings for the 500,000th time, and reported back to his bunker to supply it's power generator, skipping to point b to find out more about the man in the checkered coat, and all the sidequests inbetween meeting Willow -- ended up getting about halfway through her questline and felt pretty attached to the story that had developed and how and where it all had unfolded more than really any story FONV delivers vanilla, only to lose it all and have to start fresh because of the constant crashing and lagging (not all a direct result of the bunker) which ment, the next time round' .. I ran right toward willow, console cheated for caps and skills and raced through all her dialog over about three hours total just to make sure everything was going to work fine.. and practically killed a majority of the impact it could have had - though I still enjoyed it and may attempt your / other quest mods over the next month. Since then it's been smooth sailing though. Not really any of the mod's fault so much as my lack of capability to find a decent load order & properly delete old files like usual I imagine.. hence why as I'm typing, I'm doing a clean install to get everything out and start fresh with just what I know I need & works well together (Basically that list was at least 3x as long about a week ago, before I found my computer can't quite handle that many shader, weather, overlay, quests and other overhauls like FOOK ontop of texture enhancements at once aside from obvious incompatibilities I might have overlooked, though I did take care not to mix FOOK & Navada beyond what it says is alright.. I still ended up siding with Navada entirely in the end and more than likely I epic failed at removing some of the files and as a result = more unstable and laggy gameplay lol.) Only tacked on two new mods since my post though, Electrocity & Purge Cell (which doesn't really qualify as a mod so much as a tweak?) and dropped two mods - tested it all and so far so good. But it'll be at least another 3 days before I add more after this reinstall xD How I hate the hassle of modding, but love it all the same... like opening a gift that requires assembly, and every now and again finding out many hours in that I've assembled a very evil bomb that's going to make me sadface and start over. Though I do WANT to make an attempt at "Wasteland Settler" and "Wasteland Defense" both looked promising, but then I looked at the comment section and shuttered at the thought of CTD's ruining the experience, anyone else run either (or both?) and manage to get through it without issue? The main comment that bugged me was 'the longer you play and further you get, the buggier it becomes and more frequent the crashes are.' with nobody seeming to say it ran well, hinting that it wasn't just someone using incompatible mods... that and claims that with defense the enemy sometimes spawns in your fort or walk right through the fort walls, and kills the whole 'defense' aspect of it. That and I'm so tempted to tack on A Requiem for the Capital Wasteland which without a doubt does qualify as the biggest FONV Overhaul to date! .. but I know if I do, I'm going to go without any mods at all or chip my current list even shorter to prevent issues.. ughh! Oh well... Edited August 22, 2011 by Satorinu
Sysreq
I haven't seen anybody else mention it, but BOSS ( http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=35999 ) is a great tool, it auto sorts your mods into something that should be playable. It will not work 100% of the time with every mod, but it at least gives you a good baseline to work with.
