Companion Troubles

So I've been having issues with the Bittercup companion mod--particularly the CBO version of gurk_meja's mod, but looking through the original page's comments, the issue originates from the original mod. I am curious, though, if this kind of issue crops up in other companion mods, like Sydney's.

 

The issue is as follows:

 

On occasion, Bittercup's AI goes wonky, and she stops following the player around. Commands for movement, such as following, waiting, going home, all stop working; she still just stands around doing nothing. Thus far the only fix I've encountered is reloading a previous save from before the issue happens, but the latest issue cost me MANY hours of progress, so I figured it's time to find out what's going on.

This isn't just bittercup it also happens on vanilla companions too. I suspect it comes from the scripts hanging and can really only be fixed by reloading your save from the fallout 3 main menu.

I was afraid of that. Didn't know it happened on vanilla companions as well, though; the only one of those I have right now is Dogmeat (haven't progressed far enough to meet Fawkes) and I've had no trouble of the mutt.
