how is modding in this game?

Recommended Posts

I would really appreciate some help, I want to know what the complexity level of modding in this game is. I will buy it from steam, I have been heavily modding bethesda games since oblivion.. Is there a mod manager for this game? How about and editer like FNVedit or F03Edit? Script extender? How are mdos generally installed? Are they placed in a data folder like in bethesda games, or do you have to use a mod manager? Not that I have a problem with using a mod manager.

My only other questions, are game related. Can you create your own character? Customization? Armor, hair, weapons, looks? I like customization :armscrossed: How bout play after end game? like how broken steel removed the "end game" from fallout 3? How is the exploration in this game..?

Sorry about the odd questions, I have never played a witch game before but this looks good, and I can't find any answers to these.. People I ask give me odd answers..... I simply need yes or no to the game related questions.. anyways thanks for help.

You make it sound like Bethesda made this game  haha. No the game itself is very fun and I would recommend the vanilla game highly. The thing about this game to put it simply is no, it is not heavily modded. The reason being there is no SDK for it. Which leaves modders only able to create hex mods which means things like changed appearances, and by appearances, I mean the color of ones hair or one's outfit. And as for character customization, very little. You can change how he interacts to people and how he goes about things, but you can't change him. I haven't beat it yet because it is a very immersive game and I don't play it unless I feel like being completely wrapped up in a game, so I do not know how it is on replaying it. Again, remember its not like TES or Fallout. It is a completely different game. The game changes as you go along, and it is open world, but you can only explore whatever current location you are at, so it is not very free-roam. If you want to know anything else let me know, I am pretty sure that my answer was also a confusing one

Yea I figured I would, being modding fallout and playing oblivion for so long I tend to forget what other RPG's are like. Thanks for the info, I will pick this up soon. I heard they were making an SDK for it, just no date of release.
