RBrim08
Why are there no Desert Eagles in either the vanilla Fallout 3 or vanilla Fallout: New Vegas? I don't know much about Desert Eagles, but I'm fairly certain that they were first developed before the nuclear fallout. Why aren't there any in-game? marharth
The desert eagle was designed in 1979, and its a pretty bad gun anyways.

Segra
Yes but Fallout hapens in a paralel universe...Moast things , ideeas, concepts, technology is '50 S.F. vision of the future...So 1979 doesn't exist.
Hoerks
Fallout 1&2 both have desert eagles in them. But 3&NV seem to avoid using any real world names for guns. The Classic Fallout Weapons mod puts them back in.

Javalin
Isn't it something to do with the naming rights or something? As to why they avoided using the real names for weapons. A similar thing occured with Konami when they created Pro Evolution Soccer. It looks like Bethesda and Obsidian did the same. Avoided using Real Names for weapons, just called them a generic name. As for why there isn't a Desert Eagle? I don't know. The weapon called "Maria" is the closest representation of a Desert Eagle, but that's it. marharth
Maria isn't really like a desert eagle at all. Maria is just a 9mm pistol.
Gnubee
Project Nevada adds in a generic "44 Mag Pistol" which is basically a DE. Lots of other mods add one in as well. Not exactly sure why it is not in the vanilla game though. Come to think of it, the vanilla game has only one .22 calbre weapon as well - just pistol, no revolver, although I think the Varmint Rifle was originally intended to be .22.
