oblivoo
Why are there no Desert Eagles in either the vanilla Fallout 3 or vanilla Fallout: New Vegas? I don't know much about Desert Eagles, but I'm fairly certain that they were first developed before the nuclear fallout. Why aren't there any in-game?i like it as a gun but why would they put a old time gun into a game that has laser and plasma riples and guns....but i would like a deasert eagle at my inventory
FenrirrMayne
The Desert Eagle from Fallout 1 and 2 is likely there because of Interplay - Fallout 3 and New Vegas is made by Bethesda/Obsidian which likely thought it was "not-in-the-era" for Fallouts setting (Which desert eagles just stick out like a sore thumb). "An ancient Desert Eagle pistol, in .44 magnum. Interest in late 20th century films made this one of the most popular handguns of all times."Thats straight from the Fallout Wikia, explaining that the Deagle is likely still in existence due to Israel/Americas arms technicians likely sticking with prototype designs. Its probably an improbable reference to modern movies such as: Robocop, Universal Soldier, Commando and Austin Powers: Goldmember. Interplay does have plenty of references to things and objects past the years its semi-based on, most likely to appeal to some gamers that don't care about the story. FinstersBrain
Isn't it something to do with the naming rights or something? Bingo---- Lots of cash to use a trademarked "product",and not to mention lawyer fee's and junk......hundreds of thousands of $$$$ ...just for one firearm..... Yep, especially for such a distinctive-looking weapon while instead you can easily create a generic-looking magnum revolver instead. I am curious though as to why the 10mm pistol in Fallout 3 and New Vegas is so unwieldy looking while the 9mm and .22 pistols they brought in for New Vegas look like actual semi-auto handguns.
