WIP: A Beast out of myself

Yeah, i'd DL and endorse if it was done. (By the way there is a basic motorcycle mod out that does what you're talking about with cars, plus there's the chrysalis corvega mod as well)

 

Get in contact with the guy that did the grow your own cannabis mod, he has cheech and chong in there, so this seems right up his alley.

 

Drug visuals are a must.. (Drugs are bad mkay, and BLTC have these)

 

Lots of blacking out and waking up in fugged up situations.. (like in some sewers or deathclaw caves or fiends territory, wearing a stupid outfit or buck naked or something)

 

Remember, in the movie he's "supposed" to be a reporter, so maybe he's "doing a story" on the strip or needs you to take pictures for him.. (fetch and retrieve quests aplenty)

 

I really don't think this should be a companion mod, (i know nobody said it but somewhere someone was thinking it), but you could easily make it a mod that expands with the game, it'd be cool if the two kept changing locations around the wasteland as the quest progresses, it could be a challenge in itself to chase them down after a rowdy night.

 

And screw over Hunter!?...

 

Wouldn't one simply steal the magical briefcase?

I was thinking the companion deal would be more like a temporary thing. I'm having it so that in the mission, you can either side with them, or the owners of the Casinos in order to get them to pay for their hotel rooms.

 

The photography idea is cool, it would be a good use of the codac

Ah yeah. You could have "escort" style missions with them, E.G. break hunter out of the ultraluxe without being seen or some such, yeah I can see how that would work well with the story.

 

The hardest (well I think it would be hard) but most fruitful scene would be "getting a lift" from the two, making some kind of cutscene from the point of view of the backseat while they both raved like madmen. But i can't see how it would be done.

 

I assume if you side with the casinos, you'd still get to do missions for Hunter and co? With the "final" mission being either you "helping" or "betraying" them? Or would you make two separate quest lines from the start? ( i think this would be more difficult and time consuming, but would be good for multiple playthroughs I guess)

 

As for missions.. It would be great to see a few different way of finishing each;

 

Say for example Hunters lawyer is in trouble with the NCR for taking advantage of a young prostitute, the good guy choice would be to help out the young girl with some caps and a map to novac or something, the neutral choice would be to pay off the NCR, and the evil choice being to "disappear" the girl.

 

I'd love to help out, but I am lacking in modding skills, I know my way around most of the geck (though i've never tried creating dialogue) and i'm pretty nifty with FNVEdit. But unfortunately, i cannot make models or textures etc, and I am really new to scripting (I wrote ONE successful script with someones help recently and I still haven't gotten over the fact that it works :D )

 

That said, i'm happy to throw in and bounce ideas off, I'm doing scriptwriting as a second major at university so I could definitely help with dialogue ideas etc. It's good to keep your mind sharp and busy right?

That's what I hope to do, a lot of missions like that.

To do that, I figure I would just have them initiate conversation with each other while the courier stays in the back.

That's actually a good idea. I was wondering how I could incorporate Lucy into the story.

Lol how about getting them scripted to go to different casinos every day where they will do drugs and do crazy s***, falling down left and right. Was thinking that there could be audios taken from the movie for when they talk, but I dont know how you could do that without violating copyright. I think it would be easier if we got somebody to record new dialogue for the characters.

At a certain part of the quest, like if they're in the strip, there can be a script that randomly chooses a drug state each day; basicly they're on ether one day and are falling down constantly, and the next day they may be on acid or something. Edited by mrbic

I wont be adding any new drugs into the mod, don't want to stray too far from Fallout lore.

Part of the story-telling could be tracing some of their steps. What I mean is, the player can go to the hotel that they were in and find parts of Raouls journal. There are lots of boarded areas in the game and it wouldnt be hard to open up some new interiors. I was thinking that itd be cool to have Raouls perspective on fallout drugs; like the movie, he can explain how it feels to be on these drugs. Thatd be hard though, because most of fallout drugs are all for military purpose and not recreational.

I'm currently discussing the plot details with adman85, we're writing the dialogue at the moment. The main part of the quest will be you trying to help the duo around Vegas. As for drug descriptions, I think I could translate the effects from a non-combat view.
