Efficient Levelling

Getting a bit losted on this efficient levelling system...

I've checked the wiki on this topic and its a little confusing, can anyone please clarify my following assumptions?

My Major Skills: Strength & Endurance

Minor Skills: Blade, Blunt, Hand to Hand (Strength); Armorer, Block, Heavy Armor (Endurance), Athletics (Speed)

Ideally I want to increase my Endurance and Strength by the +5 modifier first...

Is in correct in assuming that if I have 10 minor skill increases then my level goes up, therefore it's only possible to increase one of my major skills by the +5 modifier (for example Endurance but not Strength as well on a single level-up)?

Does training affect minor skill increases and if so, when is the best time to use them?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

OK here is my 2 cents worth. First you should read the intro in the strategy guide (worth every penny) to gain some information on character construction. First never take both Blade and blunt thats a total waste. Second there are skills that will increase fast just by doing things like running, jumping and the like. There are those who tell you to use them as they will make you level faster and they will. In this game it is not how high a level you can get the quickest its about developing you skills,

SO dump the Hand to hand and the athletics. Having blade or blunt will help the strength attribute go up just fine.

so we now have your new guy with 4 skills blade (or blunt), Hv armor, block, and armorer. I would drop armorer because like athletics just doing it will raise it.

Remember there are eight Attributes (like strength and endurance). Out of the 21 skills you pick 7 (your Major skills) with each governed by 1 of the attributes. As an example I will build a fighter type character. I would start with this type.

1. race: Red Guard

2 Skills

blade

block

Hv. Armor

Restoration Magic (to heal yourself)

the last three can be among the following depending on what you want

marksman

sneak

security

Destruction magic

Armorer

My current character uses the last 3 but my next one may not have security due to a item you can get from a quest at level 10. I also will drop destruction magic because of the number of scrolls you find and my style of play I have not used it much. Try for a 1-2-2-2 spread for your skills with the 1 being Blade or blunt. Choose from among the 2-2-2 skills for the attributes you want to use.

My last item is to go to tesnexus.com and find a Level MOD. NOT one of the level faster type (which there are many) but one that is a level slowing MOD. It will cut the rate that you level up and that is all, Trust me when I say that this game is not about how high a level you can get to the quickest but by building your character slowly but having a much better character, You will miss getting the real good stuff that comes with level 20 but unless your character skills are developed that fancy armor and weapon won't do you much good,

The Level MOD I use is one that you can adjust from 2x to 5x slower. I use 2x early on the 3x or 4x till level 10 then 5x the rest of the way. To many people including me thought that the way to win is to up your level and if you use such things as athletic you will do that and adding a level speed up MOD will not make your character better when he meets them bad guys with dadric armor :-) you will have a large multitude of players that will tell you what I have said here is total bull crap, but in the end its up to you.

I.m not sure why I even wrote this when you will just glance at it and do what you want but this game in not forgiving and like us all will find your style in the fullness of time
