Ways of character buildings

Hi Oblivion fans!

I have started this topic to gather all experience about gameplay tips.

My first (maybe) useful advice is for the Arena quest in Imperial City.

If you do the quest in this way, you can increase almost every skill value to that level, what you want.

As you may know, there are many skills that require a "hit on target" to increse its level.

There is a simple way to get someone, who will let you to hit him any times you want.

Yes. It is the Grey Prince...but he will only want to die, if he knows that he was a son of a vampire.

So...

The very first thing you should do right after entering the arena bloodworks to speak with the Grey Prince.

He is a grey colored big Orc. He will tell you about his past, and will ask you to find out the truth.

You get a quest. I'm not going to tell that quest in details, it is simple. Find the Grey Prince's father, take his jornal, and give it to the Grey Orc.

After knowing the truth he will want to die in combat when you challange him. So you can hit him without any "negative reward". :)

There is also something needed. A spell for heal others.

You can buy for example Holy Bolt in Bruma. (Chapel of Talos)

Anyway you can increase sneak skill also in this chapel. There are always at least one people sitting there.

Just go behind him, near to a bench and the wall, activate sneaking, and press the "q" key, to autowalking.

In this way you can make waiting useful. (The spellcaster, Ira, who will sell you the desired spell, is not always in the chapel, so you have to wait for her.)

But for use that spell, you need to be apprentice in restoration.

The fastest way is to set restoration to a major skill when starting a new character.

The other way I found really quick is:

After you bought your spell in Bruma, stay there a littlebit.

There are many high buildings, and stairs there. Just go upstairs, and jump down. Beware, you will lose some hitpoints when hit the ground!

But thats the point. If you jump down from the stairs 6-8 times you will increase acrobatics skill by one.

During this jumping you will lose hitpoints, so you can heal yourself, and increse restoration skills also.

It is simple.

After these things are done, it is time to challange the Grey Prince.

Right after the combat starts, the Prince will only want to die.

So you can attack him freely, lets say with a simple dagger to increase blade, or your bare hand to increase hand-to-hand, or whatever you want.

If the Grey Prince hitpoints are low, just heal him with your heal other spell. And start attacking again.

This gameplay affect mainly:

blade, hand-to-hand, blunt, sneak, acrobatics, restoration, destruction

I hope you found it useful.

Okay. Its your turn now. :)
