Meathos Posted August 22, 2011 Share Posted August 22, 2011 I am unable to hire Charon without using the console and even then i can't make him work properly. after buying the contract and speaking with him he tries to kill Ahzrukhal but cannot. most times he just fires 2 shots which take Ahzrukhal down to half health, other times he waits a bit then fires 2 more shots but still can't finish the job. after this Charon talks to me again as if i had just started dialog with him after first buying his contract. i tell him that i am his new owner just like before and then he and Ahzrukhal just stand there looking at each other, neither of them respond when i try to interact after that. if i finish off Ahzukharl myself all of underworld turns against me. after reloading and trying again i used the console to kill Ahzrukhal when Charon failed to do so. after that Charon talked to me again saying he was ready to go and we went on our merry way. i was very relieved until i noticed that Charon would not use his shotgun at all, only his knife. using ranged weapons was his default already so i switched to melee then back to ranged with no affect. i read about other bugs with Charon on the web and saw that others can't make him use his shotgun but i never found a fix and they don't mention using mods so mabye the second bug is vanilla. my only idea about his inability to kill Ahzukharl is that FWE has buffed up the hit points. also i have a mod that has changed the model of the default combat shotgun to what looks like an AA-12. maybe the damage was also adjusted. my mod list: [X] Fallout3.esm[X] Anchorage.esm[X] ThePitt.esm[X] StreetLights.esm[X] BrokenSteel.esm[X] PointLookout.esm[X] Zeta.esm[X] CRAFT.esm[X] CALIBR.esm[X] Project Beauty.esm[X] Mothership Crew.esm[X] EVE.esm[X] RH_IRONSIGHTS.esm[X] DCInteriors_ComboEdition.esm[X] FOW - zornsthorne Posted June 23, 2012 Share Posted June 23, 2012 To anyone who experiances this bug, I fixed the scene by turning the difficulty down to very easy and the damage multiplier within the fwe mod to x3.
