KittyAssasin
I have searched the internet for an answer and have been fruitless. (I don't like having no fruit) Just a bit of information, I do have all of my extracted files (using FO3 Archiver) in the correct directory i.e. Data/meshes/weapons/2handrifle/huntingrifle.nif The Data folder is on my desktop. Installed Mods: NoneInstalled Software:FOMMFO3 ArchiverG.E.C.K.NifSkopeFallout 3 (dur) System Specs: Windows 7 OS 64-bitIntel® Core2 Quad CPU Q8300 @ 2.5 GHzRAM: 8 GB The specifics of my problem can be defined as such: The G.E.C.K. will not accept models not directly from Fallout 3. i.e. I used NifSkope to open the huntingrifle.nif file to add a scope. I found the scope in a link on YouTube attached to a tutorial for attaching the scope. I saved the modified hunting rifle as huntingriflescoped.nif in the same folder I got the hunting rifle from. I opened the file in the G.E.C.K. and in the preview window it displayed the red error diamond with a ! on it. I thought this was normal for a foreign .nif. I loaded Fallout 3 and in-game, the model came out as the red diamond with the ! on it. I initially though this was an error by the scope file, so I reopened NifSkope and only opened the huntingrifle.nif file and saved it over the huntingriflescoped.nif (so there were no changes to the rifle). I loaded this model into the G.E.C.K. and it still returned the red diamond with the ! on it. (at this point I went to the internet and found nothing relating to my problem) So it seems any model not directly from Fallout 3 will not load into the G.E.C.K. Models from Fallout 3 work fine. Any suggestions/help/comments? Gratefully, Xino Carbon (KittyAssasin)
satanslilhelper
Are you trying to replace the model of the hunting rifle, or create a new scoped version in addition to the original? If the former - the name of the nif (as well as the folder location) must be identical - all you'd need to do differently from what you've described is name the new nif "huntingrifle.nif" and replace the old one completely. For the latter, you need to create a new item - create your scoped nif as before, select the hunting rifle in the GECK, change the ID to something unique (I like to put a couple of 1's at the front of the ID, so it's always at the top of the list), change the model to the new, scoped nif, and when asked "Create new form?" select yes. You can then place the item however you choose, (box/vendor/levelled lists).Any help?
KittyAssasin
I understand the creation of weapons in the G.E.C.K., but the problem is with the model of the weapon (possibly). The G.E.C.K. is simply not accepting models not immediately from Fallout 3, i.e. a model from NifSkope, even if the model has not been changed, any help?
