Vampire / Lycanthrope Gameplay?

Assuming that they include the two into the game, what would it be like if you became a vampire or ware wolf?

I am new to the Elder Scrolls series so I do not know what these conditions entailed in previous games. I'm wondering what they were like in old Elder Scrolls games, and what you guys think / want them to mean for gameplay in Skyrim.

A few specifics I am wondering about are stat / ability changes, how your character looks, and how to contract the conditions.

Thanks guys!

Vampirism in Oblivion

Vampirism in Morrowind

Lycanthropy in Morrowind

Lycanthropy is also available in Oblivion with mods, but the specifics depend on the mod used as there are several separate werewolf mods.

Also keep in mind the developers have the ability to completely change anything they feel like regarding Vampires and Werewolves in Skyrim, if they choose to include them. Looking at how it worked in previous games can, at best, give only hints.

Feel free to ask about anything you find confusing on the above pages.

I'm fairly certain that it'll be included in Skyrim, although they've been keeping rather hush-hush about the entire thing. In Oblivion, being a vampire simply meant that you would age, you would get red eyes, you'd get much stronger, and finally, you would die in the sunlight. Oh, and people would be scared of you too, because of the way you looked.

I believe werewolves were included in Morrowind as DLC, but unfortunately, I never had the joy of playing it. What I think would be really cool is if you transformed into a werewolf at night in Skyrim, or at least during a full moon. This could make for some really fun gameplay and I'm hoping werewolves are included.

As for how you contract the disease, I assume it would be the classic bite or scratch from either of the two monsters.

And welcome to The Nexus Forums!
