Any help would be great. I tried updating my BIOS and just can't find either the site or the files I need to do that. Maybe there is a utility out there that does this FOR me?

RTL8192u.sys

sounds like you have a wireless lan, try disconnecting it to see if BS come up

You actually make a great point - I do have a wireless LAN. What can I do to fix it? Since its all I have to connect to the internets...

Ok, there is a few select possibilities as to what can be causing this. But first take a look at this: http://pcsupport.about.com/od/findbyerrormessage/a/stop0x00000007.htm

Stop code 0x0000007e is an error that is thrown when the CPU receives a bad interrupt. An interrupt is basically a piece of assembler code that causes the CPU to stop what it's doing and handle an I/O operation, such as a keyboard stroke for example. Normally, the address the BSOD occurred at (FFFFFA6004AD7661) is usually indicative of a bad RAM stick, and it could very well be possible that that is the case here. When the interrupt is passed to the CPU, the address that is stored in the CPU's program counter has to be temporarily stored in RAM.

So one of a few things is going on:

1) a piece of software, such as RTL8192u.sys, has passed the wrong address. Reinstalling the driver or reinstalling Windows will clear this up if this is the case. A virus can also cause this.

2) You have a memory stick installed that has gone bad. Because the interrupt has to pass through memory first, it can become corrupted during the interrupt call if the memory stick is defective. Trying a different set of RAM in your system will tell you if this is the case or not by whether or not the system still blue screens with the different RAM.

3) You have a defective wireless card. You'll know that this is the case if you've ruled the above two possibilities out.

Hope this helps.

Thank you for the help. I will definately be looking into this. Since this has been bothering me for some time, I will keep at it. WOW! Is this ever frustrating as hell!

Hope this helps.

ntoskrnl.exe is, well, Windows; it's the executable file for the NT kernel. No surprise that's it's showing up. I'm still saying that RAM could be an issue. Anytime you see an memory address starting with "FFFF" memory is a suspect.

also, I agree that you upgrade bios because it will update hardware compatibility especially on 775 machines, I see most problem on 775 is just on BIOS, include as darkwarrior45 said,, probably RAM fails...on most bios update, it will update RAM compatibility..and ASUS well known as picky with RAM..

the update bios for P5Q is here (on OS dropdown list select others).the newer of P5Q motherboard is BIOS version 2209 (11.16.2010), and the lowest is version 1406. I cannt see your bios version(1104) listed..just make sure that bios is for your PC..you can use CrystalCPUID for detailed bios version and motherboard (by clicking function tab -> bios information by WMI)...you need also download their bios tool (afudos) to run update utility via DOS..

i just strongly suggest if you are not familiar with updating bios dont do it, it cannt be undone if update fails and make your pc wont boot..the only thing that can repair dead BIOS is by replacing bios chip..

the first you might to try, uninstall that realtek drivers from safe mode then uninstall driver from device manager..than go to normal mode and try reinstall driver..
