pizzaboy
1. Pick-Pocket mini-game==========================How about a mini-game to make pick-pocketting a little more interesting? It's so boring that pick-pocketting is the same as just opening some container. Also, my character is a warrior and seems to always fail in his attempts to successfully steal from other characters, as pick-locking involves some skill (even if it's limited - not sure if it's a mod I've installed, because some containers won't allow me to even attempt to pick-lock due to my skill levels in order to balance the game), I think my hero deserves at least some chance of success in his attempts to become a thief? So here it is, remember those fairground games where the player tries to navigate an electric rod through a maze-like pattern without it touching the arrangement or the buzzer goes off? It would be cool to implement this to replace the existing pick-pocketting system. There could be different maze arrangements dependent on the character's ability (I think this is based on their agility?) or have a time limit set depending on their ability, obviously if there are other people around (and watching!!) then the chances of successfully stealing still affects the chances of success. Luck can be used to give the player the number of chances they are allowed to make with the timer constantly running in the background. I think this would be an excellent mod to test how steady your pick-pocketting hands are! 2. Immersive Map====================It's so annoying that you constantly have to open the map to know your whereabouts, so how about a small immersive map in the bottom corner of the screen like in a lot of other games? It can't be that difficult to implement right? Just grab whatever the screen the inventory uses and use that? Displaying the time alongside it would also be great - no more "you are trespassing" or "there are enemies nearby" so can't view the wait screen, even though you can open the map up in the inventory and still see the time! The reason why I want to know the time btw, is because if I'm burgling someones house, I want to be aware if the owner is going to wake up (or arrive home) anytime soon, or whether I need to get back to a certain place at a set time to continue my current quest. 3. Oblvion nudist camps!!!===========================It's always been amusing (especially with Robert's Male Body mod installed) that you can run around town naked, and nobody is even mildly shocked even though it's supposed to be a civilized world!?!! Guards should arrest people if they see (stress SEE) them running around in their nappies (or in the nude)! Some NPC's should just find it amusing whilst others, like counts and countesses should refuse to chat to the character, because they are offended by their appearance! 4. Character wardrobes=====================================It takes so long to open a character's inventory and manually check for the outfits that the character usually wears depending on whether they are in town or adventuring (and occasionally finding out that I've sold it!) that I've given up, and just remove all armour when I'm in town to make my speed faster or when I'm required to use my sneaking abilities. It would be great just to have 2 short-cut keys to assign wardrobes - one for attack-mode and another for general purposes, similar to that used by the alchemy system to create outfits. If an item of clothing required for the set wardrobe doesn't exist, then it should just assume the character isn't going to wear it. Anyone whos used the Rhianna Goddess Companionby Jumonji would understand how great this is to simply have an outfit when relaxing and another when they are prepared to go fight. 5. Assigning weapons and clothing to companions=================================================Isn't it annoying having to keep clothing or weaponary in the main character's inventory just so your companions don't use or wear them? Being able to manually set their outfits would be a great bonus to companion users! 6. Filtering the inventory============================Filtering items to quickly find items which are stolen and a flagging system to inform users of the items they want to sell is a much needed mod to Oblivion, as it wastes so much time on the users part to look through the inventory everytime they are ready to sell at a city store when the time could be better spent on gameplay! This becomes especially annoying once the inventory gets to over several hundred items (I've fallen asleep on several occasions when arranging my items!), I'm using companions with unlimited storage capacity btw =) Maybe something similar to the shift+click system can be used to flag items for sale (Ctrl+click??). A sell all flagged items would also be a bonus too!!! ;) 7. Companion and saddlebag storage limits==========================================Is there anyway to display (and for companions to set) the storage limits? Ok guys, thanks for listening to my ranting! Hope some of these requests will inspire some modders and help make Oblivion (or at least my perception of Oblivion) a better place to be... P.S. I've also posted these mod requests on the Planet Elder Scroll Forums.
Abramul
Simply put, much of what you're asking for isn't possible without access to source code, and even if someone did have such access, they probably would not be permitted to distribute altered version of the executable. Sypron
There are mods that exists that contain more "hot keys", but when you push the key it equipts a certain set of clothing. I don't know where you can find it on its own, but it is implimented into JOG's Stealth overhual. Heres an excert from the readme: --------------- Gear Quick-Keys --------------- The arrow-keys LEFT, DOWN and RIGHT are now new quick keys that store your complete outfit. Pressing the right CTRL key will now unequip all your equipment (In game as well as in the inventory-screen) Hold the right SHIFT-Key while pressing one of the Gear Quick Keys to remember your current outfit, press just the key to recall it. When you hold the right CTRL key while setting an outfit (first hold SHIFT then CTRL) All equipment-slots that are currently unequipped will also be unequipped when you recall the outfit. When you don't hold CTRL, recalling the outfit will just equip the items that were stored, items in other slots will not be unequipped * Unlike the original hotkeys, this function will not unequip the items when you push the key again. * Equipment-slots stored in quick key: Helmet, Cuirass, Greaves, Boots, Gloves, Shield, Weapon, Arrows, Ring1, Ring2, Amulet (Clothes are stored just like armor)
LoginToDownload
But the 'Nudist Camp' one is very doable. And a good idea. In fact, I think I'll give it a go at some point.
pizzaboy
To Abramul: Thats a very negative way of looking at things. I've used a lot of mods, some involve scripting, others are just plain amazing in the way they override the original game settings - Stealth AI changes: Reneer's Guard OverhaulUI: Immersive Interface by HarfleurCombat changes with additional animations: Deadly Reflex by SkycaptainIn-game additional animation: Actors in Charge and Actors in Madness by TrollfEnabling companions: CM Partners Mod by Cutthroat ModsA number of Saddlebag modsTheres also quite a few mods out there that enable "crafting" of inventory items just to name a few... so it's not all impossible. This forum is for "requests/suggestions", so I'm just pointing out a few annoying features that I feel require fixing. I personally don't know if all of my requests are possible, but I would just like them to be ;) Thanks. ==================================================== To Sypron: Wow, that sounds like exactly what I'm looking for. After reading your reply I quickly checked the comments for JOG's Stealth overhual, only to find that maybe the modder has left the scene. Does anyone know how to strip the hotkeys feature from the mod or if that is possible with the supplied files? I'd make an attempt myself if I knew it was possible, but I've never even opened the construction set (I've only been playing for about 2 weeks and already found so many annoyances!!! haha). ==================================================== To LoginToDownload: That would be great! I think I read somewhere that getting NPC's naked just involves a flag to be set??? But for all these guys who use mods to make Oblivion "more immersive", I think this would be a great feature! ==================================================== Thanks all!
