Lord Barkmann
Is 3ds Max $3000 to buy online? or am i looking at the wrong programe?
ccunnin71
That would be correct. But I heard from some guy that if you do a google seach with certain key words like bitt_____t (fill in the blank). It's an easy application to locate if you feel inclined to do so. I hope my 1st post here was not an out right no no. Because the reality is the most of the folks that do free modding for this game do not have $3000.00 to drop on 3dsmax. So wake up. chjoco15
I'm pretty sure that the professional version of 3ds max is $3000, but the student version or whatever is about $200 or something like that. @ ccunnin: I agree. Even $200 dollars is alot to shed on a program...

Sypron
Go for XSI ModTool. I'm learning to use it now, and its free.
TheTerminator2004
Or Blender, which is free, and has no limitations, unlike XSI mod tool, which doesn't let you use some features. EDIT: Yay! 200th post! Go me :D
Sypron
Who says the the limitlessness of blender surpasses that of ModTools? I mean, modtool doesn't let you use the FULL program, but there till could be more left than what blender has.

There's not- I've used both programs (as well as gmax), and Blender can do more (as well as being easier to use, despite the non-standard interface). I expect the full version might be able to do more (although I can't be certain, as I've never used it), but not the Mod Tool.
