Problem I need help with.

I have all the Real swords weapon mods installed, and they have been working fine. they are the only mods I have installed right now. But, all the weapons just disapeared today, when I loaded my save game it said the standard " some content relies on mssing files and will not be available". I have them installed correctly through the mod manager as far as I know, but I am rather stupid with computers, so I wouldn't know if something wasn't right. They are in the data folder for oblivion, and they appear in the data files section of the oblivion launcher. I have tried reinstalling the mods, and reinstalling the game, but nothing works. Any advice on how to get this up and running again would be greatly appreciated.

edit: freaking finally, it works. Appreciatte the help.

I have the mod manager and loaded them with it, and the Oblivion.esm is at the top of the load order. The weapons are just gone. In the oblivion folder, in the data section, all the mods esps have a small lock on them, so maybe that is the problem? I can't figure out how to fix that.

Don't look at the Data Files section of the Oblivion launcher, it destroys your load order. Set your load order in OBMM, close it then run Oblivion. Also, if Oblivion is installed in \Program Files\ on Vista or Windows 7, Windows UAC may be causing your issue. You should reinstall Oblivion to somewhere like C:\Games\ to get around Windows UAC following Bben's guide. Edited by MShoap13

I tried installing it to a different location and the esps are still locked. Uninstalled again and installed into a different location, esps are still locked. Followed that guide, still locked. and, i don't think load order matters if I just have one mod installed now. Edited by MbDB1211

Are you using Win7?

What's the current load order on all your mods?

OBMM is an awkward tool for creating a load order. Have you tried Wrye Bash?

Yes my computer is using Win7. My current load order is:

Oblivion.esm

Realswords-Argonian Hi-Npc.esp.

Only one mod installed right now. I had all the realswords mods installed, but now none of them work, so I assume if I can get one to work, they will all work, since they were all made by the same guy. I've tried reinstalling to a different location using BBens guide, reinstalling the mods, but the Esp files remain locked no matter what I do. Others mods work, just not the Realswords mods, and those are my favourite mods.

It might be a Win7 issue, then. I'm using WinXP myself, but there have been several people who have experienced missing files/folders due to the way Win7 accesses and hides these. It's probably useful information you should have included at the top of your request.

I'll ask again: are you using Wrye Bash? Because changing load order and seeing relationships between files is a snap using it.

Yes, tried scanning for dirty edits, it found 28 udr's which I have no idea how to fix.

Wrye Bash isn't a tool for finding dirty edits. It does a lot of things, but that's not one of them. It can let you easily change your loading order, see if you're missing parent mods necessary to run other mods, etc.
