Unnecessary Violence Dual Wield Help?

Greetings.

I have just downloaded the Unnecessary Violence mod, which had worked for me previously, and the dual wielding just doesn't work. First off, it says "Can't use scripted weapons", so i use the unscript spell. Then, when i try and do it it was "toggling to offhand mode" but NOTHING happens. Its still in my main hand. Its really freaking annoying. Can anyone help me?

Thanks in advance.

Have you checked the readme to be sure you have all the required stuff installed prior to trying to use this mod? I don't have the mod, but I am guessing that you need to be sure you have the latest OBSE installed etc...

Yes, i checked through thoroughly. I'd had this mod before and it was an excellent mod, but it just doesn't work for me anymore. Same with Deadly Reflex. Perfect mods, now broken for me.

Where do you have the game installed? If it is in the program files area, try to reinstall to C:\Games or something like that.

Do you have other mods installed and working? If so, have you tried to disable any of them to see if there are any conflicts?

I've got it installed through steam, so I can't really change the install directory. Also, i only had Qarl's Texture Pack and Natural Environments... :/

The steam install has been an issue for quite a number of people when it comes to mods. Primarily what happens is that the dates for all of the files is newer than the disk version so this tends to make things load incorrectly at times. I can't remember where I saw it, but there was a write up on what to do to make mods behave correctly when using the steam install.

BTW, you could reinstall steam after saving your game data through steam. I believe the process is right click on the game and choose to backup the game. Uninstall steam. Install steam to a different directory. Not sure how well that works as I have not messed with it myself, but I believe that will get you around the UAC issues in windows Vista and 7.
