MyGoodEye
Congrats on the new system! Potentially self-serving answers below... IMAGINATOR : Let's you control nearly all visual aspects of the game. Brightness/Contrast/Color/Tint/Light Output/etc... nearly limitless possibilities. DYNAVISION2 : Adds in-game depth of field CINEMATECH : Adds film grain/grits. Doesn't have to be overpowering and adds a nice touch. DIRECTORS CHAIR : Controls all of the above within MOD CONFIGURATION MENU (awesome). FNV ENHANCED SHADERS LITE : Adds nice post-processing typically found in DX10/11 games. NEW VEGAS CONFIGATOR : Must have. Turn on threading for most things, then fiddle with the settings to your heart's content. Other things: NVSE (of course) 4GB ENABLER and/or ENABLE LARGE ADDRESS AWARE on the EXE. Turn on AMBIENT OCCLUSION in your NVIDIA settings. Use NVIDIA INSPECTOR if you can't find 'em. Google it. Also turn on TRIPLE BUFFERING... helps with stuttering. Look for GOPHER'S MODDING TUTORIALS on the NEXUS. He has one on VISUAL MODS and STABILITY. Good stuff. All due respect to AGOON12 but: Don't bother with DETAILED NORMALS if you're using either/both POCO BUENO and NMC's TEXTURE PACK. (both are highly recommended... install NMC first, then install POCO BUENO to 'override' the duplicated textures. NMC covers far more of the game, but in some cases, the POCO textures are a tad more detailed. I personally prefer NEVADA SKIES - URWLIFED to FELLOUT. Does the same thing but better (my opinion) and with far more detail. Don't use FELLOUT WITH NEVADA SKIES... won't work. With IMAGINATOR you can very easily tweak the tints, etc... MyGoodEye
HAHA... yeah, man, it'll be a whole new experience, but bear in mind that the game isn't really optimized to run with the latest tech... it's an older game engine. On your system, newer games will run butter-smooth 60FPS with all the bells and whistles, but FNV may still choke from time to time. You'll also want to go here: http://www.geforce.com/Optimize/Guides/new-vegas-tweak-guide The nice thing about it, is that it can help dispel the MYTH that you MUST run the game on ULTRA for best results. It'll also help you make informed decisions about what settings to use in CONFIGATOR. Enjoy! -David
