Placeable Radio Item

I would like to see a mod that would, in one way or another, allow you to place radios/jukeboxes within cells of your choosing with your choice of radio station. Be it a simple item and activate script (like the RobCo Bedrolls in FO3) or even a "You press L on fridge, it is now a jukebox!" deal, that would be pretty dang awesome.

 

I did a search around the 'ol Nexus and couldn't find a mod that did this or anything like it. If it already exists, I would appreciate someone pointing out what I missed.

Well, it's sort of a roundabout way of doing it, but there is a way to place radios and such anywhere you want.

 

You need two mods to do this. Feng Shui and Real Time Settler.

 

Using Real Time Settler's "Bess Bell" which you get from getting Brahmin Bess , you can "blueprint" (copy) any item in the game. This being your radio or jukebox you wanted. After you've blueprinted the item, you can use the Bess Bell once again and select the Blueprinted items to place in your game. Note, that even after uninstalling Real Time Settler, these items you produce WILL stay in the game.

It's generally a good idea to become familiar with the controls of Real Time Settler. It's fun to mess around with. Great for placing stuff you can't add to your inventory, like chairs, TVs and so forth.

 

After you have your item, now you can use Feng Shui. With Feng Shui, you can move any static object (after selecting the option in Feng Shui's in-game settings to do so) around the room. You can also resize it. Make the jukebox the size of a Nuka Cola or as huge as your house! It's REALLY fun to do it with objects with animated effects or anything that just glows. ;D

 

In the past, Real Time Settler has probably caused a few crashes for me where it's not really updated anymore, but it's certainly good for a quick copy and paste job. It might work better for you, anyway. :) I hope this helps you, some. By the way, Feng Shui will let you also take any non static item and lock it in place anywhere else, even if it's floating in the air. I've done this for my personal trophies. A Deathclaw hand hangs above my door, my fully upgraded Varmint Rifle is locked to the wall. I even have a giant Hula Girl wearing a cowboy hat because I was bored! XD You can clip items into other items, too. Go, experiment. :)

Actually, all you need is Feng Shui, you can copy/clone any item with it (including static world objects) and then place that item anywhere.

Awesome, thanks for the advice. Looks like I'll be installing Feng Shui.

 

As it happens, I already use RTS (waiting for RTS II to get more content), so this will be an easy move for it.

 

The only thing now would be to choose what radio station the radios/whatevers have. I know there are radio station mods, but were I to add my own, I don't know how i'd get a radio that plays it into the world using a copy/paste method.
